Happy Goggles – virtual reality headset from a Happy Meal box

7-3-2016

We’re convinced that our Dutch kids want to try the Happy Goggles as well, McDonald’s Holland! McDonald’s Sweden is giving children a view into the world of virtual reality with the Happy Meal box from the 5th till the 12th of March.

McDonald’s has launched a new Happy Meal box, containing Happy Goggles, the company’s new virtual reality headset. Affordable way to experience the world of virtual reality. By re-folding the box, customers can create a pair of virtual reality goggles. The result, with the addition of a pair of lenses and a mobile phone, turns the box into Happy Goggles.

Will the Happy Goggles also be in the Dutch Happy Meal box?

This is a test designed to modernize the company’s product offering for children. It aims to provide a digital experience in addition to the physical toys usually found in the box. The rationale is that as new generations grow up in a world where smartphones and tablets are a part of daily life, the usual Happy Meal toys just won’t fit. With this Happy Meal box the company is also launching a virtual reality skiing game endorsed by the Swedish National Ski Team, called Slope Stars! Gaming, fun and learning how to stay safe at the slopes! Kind of ‘play and learn’ for the kids. So yes, we hope to see these Happy Goggles in the Netherlands as well.
