This May, the Claridge’s hotel partners with The Newt in Somerset, one of the UK’s leading country estates, bringing a taste of the countryside to London following its involvement in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Running from 18 to 31 May 2026, the two-week collaboration celebrates the best of town and country through installations, menus, and exclusive guest experiences under the name: Claridge’s X The Newt in Somerset.

A six-metre sculptural installation in Claridge’s Art Deco lobby
At the heart of the partnership is ‘A Farm in Mayfair’, a six-metre sculptural installation in Claridge’s iconic Art Deco lobby. Curated by The Newt’s team and crafted by British artisans from woven willow by British artisans, the piece features animals including water buffalo, cattle, a stag, and chickens ascending skyward, symbolising rural life. At its peak sits a single egg, representing renewal and the cycles of farming and nature. Additional willow sculptures will appear at the hotel entrance and in The Foyer.
Guests can also enjoy a playful ‘hallway of apples’, where fragrant Granny Smiths, accented with touches of gold, are available for all to sample, subtly reflecting the shared sense of luxury between both brands.
Menus at Claridge’s will showcase ingredients from The Newt’s estate, including heritage tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella from its creamery, and estate-reared beef and lamb. Seasonal rhubarb, strawberries, and apples bring a distinct taste of Somerset to London. The bar will serve The Newt’s cyder, and a limited-edition tote bag will be available in-store and online.
