Amsterdam is getting ready to fill the city with love, diversity and pride. From the 1st till the 6th of August, we can once again enjoy a spectacular Pride in Amsterdam with the theme #YOUAREINCLUDED. We have compiled a small collection of Pride 2023 events, parties, food dishes, ‘cocktails for a cause’, make-up workshops, an exposition, bingo, parade initiatives and the #TakeAStance initiative for sharing views and proposing solutions for inclusivity.

Pride 2023 at the W Amsterdam | Pride Boat & ‘Take A Stance’-panel
On the occasion of Amsterdam’s Pride celebrations, W Amsterdam will reintroduce the Award-Winning Pride Boat. This beautifully decorated boat, designed by renowned artist Hamish Powel, boats its floral displays made with lavender, a historically important colour in LGBTQIA+ culture that symbolises resistance, power and human expression.
In addition to the Pride Boat, W Hotels in Amsterdam and London has curated a series of engaging programmes and events that highlight the diverse experiences and voices within the LGBTQIA+ community. The “Take A Stance” panel, hosted by renowned activist Peter Van Vlught, provides a platform for sharing views and proposing solutions for inclusion. Guests can also enjoy dance events organized by Outhaus London and Sweetie Darling, offering euphoric spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to express themselves freely and celebrate their originality. Dance classes, makeup workshops, yoga, fitness, and meditation sessions are just some of the activities available, promoting self-expression, confidence, and well-being.
W Amsterdam is proud to partner with Calvin Klein and Tanqueray, embracing inclusivity and unity throughout the full Pride 2023 Week. The Outhaus London Pride Kick-Off Event at W Lounge, presented in partnership with Tanqueray, and the Sweetie Darling After Party at W Lounge, presented in partnership with Calvin Klein, will continue the festivities after Canal Pride. Additionally, the WET Deck will be open throughout the week, offering a vibrant space for guests to celebrate and enjoy dance parties.
THE DUCHESS – Explosion full of love
The beautiful colours that grace the city serve as inspiration for THE DUCHESS, part of the Entourage Group. This year, the restaurant presents a colourful version of the Chocolate Explosion. ‘Let Us Be Perfectly Queer’ | Get that inner and outer glow at Kimpton De Witt
Since the start of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, with the first Kimpton in San Francisco in 1981, the hotels have been among the first to actively support LGBTQIA+ travellers. They also encourage an inclusive and diverse work environment, having been recognised by the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index as one of the most inclusive work environments.
With Pride Amsterdam approaching, the hotel is all about ‘Let Us Be Perfectly Queer’ this month and yes, of course they are creating opportunities to celebrate freedom, diversity and inclusivity. Step inside Kimpton De Witt’s Living Room for the perfect start to the Canal Parade. Cocktail for a Cause | At Super Lyan & the Pulitzer’s Bar
Super Lyan, the hip bar on Amsterdam’s Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 3, and art-deco Pulitzer’s Bar on Keizersgracht 234, are serving ‘cocktails for a Cause’ during Pride Amsterdam. Drinks inspired by unique stories and residents of the city.
Cocktail bar Super Lyan will serve two special cocktails during Pride Week, dedicated to icons from the LGBTQIA+ community. These include a cocktail inspired by Elton John and Ian Mckellen. To contribute to the community, €2.50 per cocktail sold during Pride Week will be donated to GLAAD, one of the largest media advocacy organisations of the LGBTQIA+ community in the world.
During Pride Week, Pulitzer’s Bar will serve “Lola’s Pride Blend”. A sparkling cocktail that pays homage to beloved Amsterdam bar ‘Pamela’. A classic brown café with authentic atmosphere that embraces the LGBTQIA+ community. The cocktail is named after Lola, one of the café’s owners, symbolising inclusivity and acceptance. When ordering this cocktail, Pulitzer’s Bar donates €2.50 to Workplace Pride.
‘Dreams Included’ | Exhibition at the Pulitzer Amsterdam
Noah Valentyn & Pulitzer Amsterdam share stories that stay with you in new exhibition “Dreams Included” during Pride 2023. Pulitzer Amsterdam, long associated with art, culture and inclusivity, welcomes artist Noah Valentyn to exhibit his exhibition during the Pride Amsterdam. The unique venue in one of the twenty-five canal houses will serve as the backdrop for Valentyn’s acclaimed works.
Valentyn delves into the world of dreams, emotions and the essence of the individual. His works represent the realm of dreams where we can come closest to embracing our authentic selves and ensuring our well-being.
Bingo at Baut Oost during Pride 2023

Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is recognised with the IGLTA Accreditation
Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is the first hotel in Northern Europe to be accredited, we think you really are ready for Pride 2023! A few weeks ago we wrote about the accreditation of the W Costa Navarino. The IGLTA Accredited programme had been developed in collaboration with industry leaders and experts in tourism, hospitality and diversity, equality and inclusion. An impartial audit organisation evaluated The Grand’s application and ensured an unbiased and thorough assessment. More details in their registration on the IGLTA website, link in title.
