Local Taste 010 | A year of culinary walking and tasting at restaurants in Rotterdam

Since June 1, Rotterdam has its own edition of Local Taste. This new glossy city magazine invites food lovers and urban explorers to (re)discover the city through its vibrant culinary scene. The magazine features a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and hidden gems for lunch and brunch. With the magazine in hand, readers can make their way from one tasting experience to the next. Each edition includes ten Taste Coins, which can be redeemed for a tasting at participating venues.

ASTER at ’t Kadaster in Ostend | Pop-up restaurant by chef Túbo Logier

This summer, chef Túbo Logier, known for the Brussels-based restaurant ASTER, will open a temporary pop-up in Ostend. From early June through the end of August, he will bring his ingredient-driven cuisine to the Belgian coast. In doing so, he also returns for a while to the region where he grew up (Gistel). The pop-up, ‘ASTER at ’t Kadaster’, opens on June 3 at ’t Kadaster, located at Alfons Pieterslaan 39 in Ostend, and will run through the end of August.

27 metres of sushi for guests at De Langste Tafel (The Longest Table)

On Wednesday 27 May, The Longest Table will take place at Oosterdok in Amsterdam, a charity dinner organised by Refugee Company and A Beautiful Mess. At an exceptionally long table, which is ultimately expected to stretch one kilometre, guests are invited for an evening of connection, shared dining and support for projects helping people with refugee backgrounds. One of the most eye-catching elements of the evening is a 27-metre sushi roll, prepared by DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station in collaboration with Sushi Time.
