The S’mores Starbucks lineup is making its return this summer. The popular S’mores Frappuccino, first introduced in 2015, is back on the menu alongside two new additions: the S’mores Cold Brew with Marshmallow Cold Foam and the S’mores Chai. According to Starbucks, the beverages are inspired by the nostalgic flavors of s’mores, the classic campfire treat made with toasted marshmallow, chocolate and graham crackers.

S’mores Frappuccino | Inspired by summer memories

With the return of S’mores Frappuccino, the coffee chain is bringing back one of its best-known seasonal favorites. The original S’mores Frappuccino was introduced in 2015 and quickly became a popular limited-time offering. According to Lisa Beckman, Director of Beverage Development at Starbucks, the concept was inspired by memories of spending summer evenings around the campfire with family and friends. “This beverage is not just about recreating the flavor of a favorite treat, it’s about recreating the feeling of summer connection with friends,” Beckman said. To capture that experience, the beverage development team combined different flavors, textures and aromas into a single drink.

Alongside the return of the S’mores Frappuccino, Starbucks is also introducing two new beverages. The S’mores Frappuccino combines coffee, ice, milk chocolate sauce, marshmallow-flavored whipped cream and a graham cracker crumble topping. The new S’mores Cold Brew with Marshmallow Cold Foam features Starbucks Cold Brew topped with marshmallow-flavored cold foam, chocolate drizzle and a graham cracker topping. Starbucks is also launching the S’mores Chai, which blends chai with toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate sauce and graham cracker flavors. All three beverages will be available for a limited time.

Developed around the taste of S’mores

Yi Wang-Delizo, a member of the Starbucks Beverage Development team, drew inspiration from her own childhood memories of making s’mores with her family. According to Wang-Delizo, the flavor experience begins with the aroma of toasted marshmallow, followed by notes of graham cracker and chocolate. For the S’mores Cold Brew, the marshmallow cold foam provides a creamy base, complemented by chocolate sauce and a crunchy graham cracker topping. She also noted that the different ingredients pair well with a variety of Starbucks beverages, including espresso, cold brew and chai. Starbucks Rewards members will receive early access to the new s’mores beverages on June 30. The beverages will be available to all customers from July 1 for a limited time, while supplies last.
