Grand Café Horta celebrates 25 years with unique coffee table book
The Horta Grand Café & Art Nouveau Room in Antwerp, Belgium, celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2025. Since opening on August 24 2000, the café has immediately attracted curious Antwerp residents. The unique metal trusses, once the heart of Victor Horta’s legendary Volkshuis, which was demolished in 1965, were given a new life here at the time. To end this year on a festive note, a luxurious coffee table book is being published that highlights not only the architecture, but also the people of Antwerp. It combines architectural magnificence with personal stories from regular visitors and employees who have made Horta a warm meeting place for years.

On December 8 2025, Hotel Des Indes officially opened the Anna Pavlova Champagne Lounge, following the festive unveiling of the Pavlova Christmas tree on 1 December. The To-Go Collection by BÉIS x Chipotle

The micro-mall PoPPo in Amsterdam North
With the launch of PoPPo, Amsterdam introduces a hyper-local department store in the 600 m² former Blokker in Amsterdam-Noord. Opening Sunday the 13th, the first PoPPo store creates a micro-mall by subdividing the space, hosting tenants such as vintage fashion, local hospitality and a speakeasy. By filling the void left by Big Box retailers, PoPPo offers landlords lower financial risk and provides small businesses a platform to thrive, while giving the city a lively, diverse retail experience. The concept reflects a growing global trend of transforming large, empty retail spaces into vibrant, multi-tenant hubs.
A Pizza Wrap-Up by Domino’s Pizza Belgium
Once again this year, millions of pizzas by Domino’s pizza were sold in Belgium. The race for the most popular pizza was a neck-and-neck battle between last year’s top two. The king of 2025 is… the Pepperoni Pizza! Sales rose by no less than 18%, dethroning the BBQ Chicken pizza. Bronze went to the classic of classics: the Margherita.
The Halloween weekend proved to be the busiest weekend of 2025, with 21% more pizzas sold than last year. Domino’s operates more than 100 locations across Belgium, and in 2025 the highest number of pizzas were sold in Brussels. On average, 0.6 pizzas per resident were sold there, a significantly larger slice than in other regions.
