Claridge’s, London’s legendary Mayfair hotel, has unveiled Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2025, this year designed by Daniel Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry. This year a bit sustainable, Daniel Lee used surplus Burberry fabrics to create bows. The Claridge’s Christmas Tree will stand in the hotel lobby until Sunday January 4th.

Our own tradition is to always publish an article about the new Claridge’s tree! We love the idea of asking a designer to decorate the lobby tree and of opening the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony. It is inspiring and can be implemented at any level!

About the design of the Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2025

This year’s 16ft Claridge’s Christmas Tree is wrapped in bows crafted from surplus Burberry fabrics, a Victorian symbol of unity. Wild foliage and thistle – Scotland’s national flower – reference Burberry’s connection to the Highlands, where its cashmere scarves are made. The colours and textures draw inspiration from the UK’s landscapes, bringing the outdoors inside.

The tree is embellished with brass bells inspired by Burberry’s Equestrian Knight Design and baubles handmade by a British glassblower. It is crowned with a gold topper, while oversized chess pieces and soft cushions surround the base.

Daniel Lee commented: “Claridge’s has always felt like home from the moment you walk through its doors, a symbol of elegance and British heritage. Designing this year’s tree is a huge honour – a chance to celebrate tradition and togetherness through vibrant colours and rich textures.”

Burberry & Claridge’s festive touches

Throughout the hotel, subtle Burberry details mark the season. Doormen greet guests wearing the iconic Burberry Check scarf, and the signature pattern appears on room key holders and inside the elevator, which has been redesigned with plush check upholstery.

In Claridge’s Bar, guests can enjoy Burberry’s seasonal cocktail, the Winter Knight, while festive trolleys offer sweets wrapped in check cones. Burberry has also created this year’s collectible Christmas bauble: a hand-painted ornament featuring the Claridge’s Bell Boy Teddy Bear dressed in a classic Burberry trench and scarf. Only 300 pieces will be available exclusively in Claridge’s shop.

The Burberry festive pop-up at Claridge’s

On the ground floor, Burberry presents a dedicated pop-up echoing the spirit of the lobby tree. The centerpiece is the Scarf Bar, showcasing the brand’s soft accessories—from cashmere to silk twill—in a rich palette of colors and checks. A curated selection of outerwear, heritage rainwear, knitwear, leather goods and bags completes the offering.

For fifteen years, Claridge’s Christmas Tree has been a beloved London tradition, marking the start of the festive season in the capital. Check out their trees from 2023 and 2024, so beautiful.
