The familiar hospitality of DoubleTree by Hilton
General Manager Melle van Uden highlights the contrast: the familiar hospitality of DoubleTree versus the ambiance full of character of the Curio Collection.
DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre is housed in the Maas Building, designed in the style of a cruise ship. Fully renovated inside, the hotel now offers 265 modern rooms overlooking the Erasmus Bridge. It also features extensive meeting and event facilities, including a room on the 16th floor with panoramic city views – a unique setting for dinners, conferences, and receptions. On the ground floor, guests can visit dō deli bar bistro, inspired by European café culture with a focus on craftsmanship, connection, and an accessible ambiance. The menu ranges from quinoa bowls and freshly baked focaccia to classic cocktails. There is a mini market (open 24/7) with a Starbucks coffee corner in the lobby.
Ambiance full of character at the Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton
The adjacent Haven Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton, the first Curio Collection hotel in the Netherlands, combines maritime inspiration with contemporary comfort. The collection is aimed at travellers who value comfort and want to immerse themselves in the character of their surroundings. The 215 rooms and suites feature warm tones and comfortable amenities; some even include a private sauna and jacuzzi. Guests can enjoy views of the Maas, the harbour, or the city. The hotel is home to LOEF Living Room & Café, serving Dutch classics such as smoked eel and shrimp cocktail, and it also offers flexible meeting spaces. The wellness facilities, including a hammam, sauna, steam bath, and swimming pool, will open on November 1, complemented by a newly renovated fitness area. Right next to the hotel is a boarding point for the Rotterdam Water Taxi.

A culinary highlight will follow in October with the opening of Calan Restaurant & Bar at the Haven Hotel, led by chef Michael Verhagen, known from the Michelin-starred restaurant Fitzgerald in Rotterdam. His cuisine reflects the cosmopolitan flavors that define Rotterdam.
Both hotels are part of Hilton Honors, Hilton’s loyalty program, offering guests flexible payment options, discounts, free Wi-Fi, and the ability to earn and redeem points via the Hilton Honors app.
In 2018, we wrote about Maison Heler in Metz, which is also part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.
