Moonshine Raceway | At ‘The Four Thieves’ pub

Moonshine Raceway is a new sporting activity which provides the opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of REAL motorsport. It’s safe, inexpensive and great fun! Drivers will be invited to take the wheel of one of 10 perfectly performance matched top range super-cars, using real steering and pedal controls to pilot their cars to victory. The first Moonshine raceway opened last year at the pub and microbrewery ‘The Four Thieves’ in London. Would these kind of funny and attractive arcade games lure people back in pubs?

More and more restaurants and wine bars open with the focus on a ‘relaxed atmosphere’. No culinary delights but great products and a nice glass of wine. Recently the wine café Alex + Pinard has opened in Amsterdam. The idea for the wine bar came from chef Nathaniel Zuijderwijk and sommelier Sanna Burggraaf, they were looking for a place to relax and drink a good glass of wine with quality, tasty food but couldn’t find. Thus they decided to join forces and create such a place in Amsterdam East. In this article, likewise concepts in New York, Amsterdam and The Hague.

Wihayo | The spirit of Korea with a Dutch spin

Wihayo, the traditional Korean receipt made with Dutch craftsmanship, is now available in the Netherlands. The premium distilled Soju is made from rice and contains a soft malty flavor. Wihayo is best to drink pure, but combines well in cocktails. The Wihayo produced in the Netherlands brings the best of two countries together: the age-old receipt from Korea and the Dutch expertise of distilling. The ingredients, a combination of fermented rice, grain, barley and natural sugars is tilled with a Dutch mill from 1785. Wihayo contains 19% alcohol. read more

Self-exploring wine bar concept, ‘By The Glass’| Rayleigh & Ramsay in Amsterdam

With the opening of Rayleigh & Ramsay in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has a unique wine-café, which focuses on independent wine exploration. The concept is similar to Vagebond Wines in London. They offer as many as 100 wines within eight taste profiles per trial cap, half a glass or a whole glass. Prices range from € 0,70 to € 15,-. The wines are presented in wine dispensers from which the guest can ‘tap’ with a pre-paid card. All wines can be evaluated and ordered online. Next to London and Amsterdam, this concept can be found in Riga, Geneva and Mauritius as well. Advisor and wholesaler of this concept is the Dutch organization By The Glass International. read more

Vegan Junk Food Bar is a Mecca for vegetarians. As the name suggests, the bar offers a menu filled with vegetarian burgers, sandwiches, fries and other snacks. The dessert is made in collaboration with Professor Grunschnabel, who is known for his gluten and soy-free ice cream. The Vegan Junk Food Bar is located in Oud-West in Amsterdam and a second location will open soon in de ‘Pijp’ on the Marie Heinekenplein. read more
