Conservatorium Hotel x Café Nol | Five-star Dutch ‘gezelligheid’ during Hotelnacht

Five-star Dutch gezelligheid (a word hard to describe but cosiness comes near) during the tenth edition of the Hotelnacht in Amsterdam, on 14 and 15 January 2023 at the Conservatorium Hotel in cooperation with Café Nol, the most famous café in the Jordaan neighbourhood in Amsterdam. For this ode to the capital’s nightlife, the hotel will transform its Taiko Bar into an Amsterdam pub. Hotelnacht visitors and hotel guests will enjoy Dutch hits, culminating in a performance by Café Nol’s regular folk singer. Chef Schilo van Coevorden will present his variation on the old Dutch bittergarnituur this evening: a langoustine frikandel with green curry and caviar, a wagyu beef frikandel and his award-winning cheese soufflé with black truffle. At the bar, too, guests briefly imagine themselves in the Jordaan with a cold glass of beer, a kopstootje or a special Jenever cocktail provided by the world’s oldest cocktail brand Lucas Bols (from Amsterdam).

Everything breathes wine at the Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg

Opening – The first wine bottles have been uncorked at Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg and the first hotel guests woke up in their private wine domain. Last weekend the themed hotel and restaurant on the Stationsstraat in Valkenburg opened its doors for the first time. The former family hotel Tummers has undergone a metamorphosis and has been transformed into a wine hotel. The new owner developed a unique concept for this in cooperation with South Limburg winemakers and international wine companies. The CEO of Dormio Resorts & Hotels, Roel de Boer describes it concisely as “everything here breathes wine”.

Free Heri Heri For All during Keti Koti on July 1

This July 1^st, ‘Free Heri Heri For All’ will take place. Free Heri Heri For All was developed by KIP Republic in memory of the history of slavery and to connect history with the present. The first edition took place in 2020 with 4,000 free dishes that were distributed across all Amsterdam city districts, the event has since grown into a nationwide celebration with more than 20,000 Heri Heri dishes that will be distributed in eight provinces this year. Free Heri Heri unites society in remembrance of the history of slavery.
