Although the official birth certificate of Maison GAUTIER dates back to 1755, following the founding charter signed by King Louis XV, the story of the House actually began a century earlier, in 1644. Charles Gautier, son of an oak merchant from the Tronçais forest, married Jacquette Brochet, daughter of a winegrower. From the meeting of viticultural expertise and oak craftsmanship, a new passion was born: the art of cognac-making. Over the generations, the House continued to grow, and in 1890 the family decided to settle in a former water mill on the Osme River, in the small village of Aigre. An article about their new face with recipes to different cocktails with their cognac!
