In conclusion of the school year 2011/2012, the Star class has visited the best restaurant of the world, Noma in Copenhagen. They met René Redzepi, have had a tour of the kitchen and enjoyed a great dinner. This inspirational movie was created afterwards.

City Information and free Wi-Fi spot in Paris

French designer Mathieu Lehanneur has created a series of Wi-Fi stations in Paris where people can sit down to use their laptop or smartphone, named Escale Numérique (Digital Break). The large digital billboard provides city information and news. In New York you will find those billboards and free Wi-fi in old telephone booths.

Sneak peeking at the neighbors

Everybody does is secretly, but now you can undisturbed sneak peeking at the neighbors. Artist Mike Hewson created an artwork of a destroyed building in Christchurch in New Zealand. Several photo’s and multi-media installations are mounted on the outside of the building, where life of the former residents are shown.

Bangkok University

The Bankok University has been renovated to underline the nickname Creative University. The ground floor area is designed as a flexible hang-out space that can be reconfigured for studying alone or in groups, resting and meetings. The mezzanine level is a fun and game zone, it includes a pink polka-dotted Karaoke hut. The game zone includes a huge pool table and a giant dart board. Inside the 6,5-meter high panda is the spiral staircase connecting the ground floor and mezzanine. Students enter the staircase from the backside and exit from the back of the head. The mouth of the panda is a window.

Veggie Challenge

Four girls of the youth foundation Viva Las Vega’s initiated a challenge to stimulate people to eat less meat and fish for 30 days. The challenge starts at  June first and the website is only available in Dutch.

Street Charge

Having your battery die: a constant problem for the person on the move in the city. It always feels a little silly to drag around cables to charge your electronics at the office, doesn’t it? The folks at Brooklyn-based design agency PENSA! have created a new concept that allows you to get your charge on outdoors. Aptly named ‘Street Charge’, the idea is to attach a thin structure to existing street infrastructure such as street signs, powered by photovoltaic cells and batteries, allowing passersby to plug in their digital toys with a USB cable.

It’s not necessary anymore to search for pastry shops in Paris. With the new Paris Pastry guide app you are directed to the nearest store. The app shows also reviews, photo’s and opening hours. The app is created by David Lebovitz.
