Another example of how to use Social Media. The campaign ‘Holiplay’ by Lego is simple. Simply building something with Lego, combine it with whatever you have in your surroundings and snap a photo. That concept captures the very essence of LEGO – use your imagination and play. Konstellation, the creative digital agency, responsible for the campaign likes to refer to it as ‘Brickmented Reality’. Tony Plant is a time based, environmental artist and photographer whose imagination stretches to the corners of the coastline in the UK. For over 20 years he has made Guerrilla style installations in sand, snow or rocks. These paintings in sand are washed away by tide. With the gorgeous beaches in The Netherlands as well we could keep competitions like who makes the best temporary painting instead of sandsculptures. And for hotels with privat beaches, this kind of art can be done during cleaning the beach in the morning. It will make your guests smile. Watch the movie about the making of a sandpainting. Based in New York, Chefday hosts step-by-step videos of top chefs from the city – like Jehangir Mehta from Iron Chef America and Michelin-starred Chris Leahy – which are free to watch. If you decide to cook the meal yourself, you can order all the necessary ingredients to be delivered. Through a subscription option, customers will receive a recommended recipe via email every two weeks, which they can view before opting to order the ingredients, choose another recipe or skip until the following fortnight. In addition, Chefday donates one meal for every dish ordered to the Food Bank for NYC. They combine healthy recipes from well known award winning chefs with the possibility of directly buying all the ingredients. And all foodies know that can be an issue!
Gastronomixs has set a world record by making 103 dishes with Chinese cabbage. Over 60 chef cooks came together on Monday 3 December to join this challenge. The initiative was to share knowledge, and show that a daily ingredient can be prepared in a lot of different ways. The cooks were very happy with the result and would like to join more of these events in the future. Gastronomixs will organize live sessions in 2013 to share even more knowledge.
The Nightrestaurant is a recurrent yearly event and fights against food waste and aims to increase the awareness of the value of food. On November 29 the Nightrestaurant opens its doors for everyone to contribute to this imitative. You have a great idea to contribute? Let it know through the website.

Centipede Cinema is a compact freestanding theater, designed for screenings in locations with limited space, developed by Barlett School of Architecture in Guimarães (Portugal, European City for Culture 2012). Besides the limited needed space, also limited resources are needed.
The new hotel Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht will open her doors officially at the end of October, but the neighbors are already welcoming the hotel. The 122-room design boutique hotel is located in the vicinity of the nine streets, Jordaan and the famous canals. Three neighbors re telling about the neighborhood and why this area is so inspiring.
On Saturday the 13th of October the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, techno producer Secret Cinema and Ted Langenbach join forces during the Advanced Music Fest Blown Away. At about 100 musicians and another 100 performers will combine classical and electonic music in the Rotterdam harbor area during an explosive creative and visually attractive evening.
