The Novotel Amsterdam City was replicated in LEGO. It took more than 30 days and 5.000 stones to build the construction, it was revealed on 11 June. The mini building was constructed to promote the exhibition ‘The Art of the Brick’ at Amsterdam EXPO.
In the 21C Museum Hotels everything revolves around art and enjoying art since 2006. In addition, you can sleep and dine in the museums. There are now three separate locations in Louisville, Cincinnati and Bentonville. We actually saw it more often, the combination of art, sleeping and dining, but this chain emphasizes on their art exhibitions in their architecture and interior. Entrepreneurs Jessica Augustin and Stanley Wassenaar from Amsterdam hope to be able to open ‘their’ hotel doors: Hotel Con Corazón in Paramaribo. With the profits of the hotel they want to contribute to good education and a better future for children in Suriname. To make their dream reality, they started a crowdfunding campaign and hope to collect 10 percent of the initial capital of approximately 800,000 euros. In collaboration with creative agency ‘Publicis Mexico’, coffee brand Nescafé Mexico has developed an Alarm Cap. The Alarm Cap encourages people to get up from bed and immediately pour a cup of coffee. The alarm sounds to wake people in the morning and can only be turned off when the lid is twisted and removed from the coffee container.
On 1 May restaurant Bluespoon, located in the Andaz Hotel Amsterdam, started with the ‘Bluespoon on Board’ service. Chef cook Julien Piguet and his team will provide a complete boat experience on the canals by serving their dishes aboard. The ‘Bluespoon on Board’ menu includes salads, sandwiches, appetizers, mains and desserts. You can order via the website, phone or email and the order can be picked up at the restaurant after 30 minutes.

Wine brand Canei introduces a new flavor this summer: Hugo. Hugo originates from Northern Italy and is a combination of sparkling wine, elderflower, lime and mint. The drink is very popular in the ski areas. The premix variant Canei Hugo is fresh, fruity and has a surprising taste. The Canei Hugo contains only 5% alcohol and is a great terrace aperitif served with ice cubes, fresh mint and a slice of lime.
The Radisson Blu Hotel in Amsterdam organizes a 24-hours treadmill Running Marathon in the lobby from 9 May 17.00 o’clock. During the event employees, guests and hotel aqcuaintances collect money for the World Childhood Foundation. During the 24-hours there are supporting events like a sponsor drink and a Running Dinner.
