Limehome Rotterdam | Project at the Schiecentrale
Limehome offers functionally designed accommodations across Europe. Through its proprietary technology, Limehome provides comfortable and practical stays with a seamless digital guest experience for both business and leisure travelers.
Limehome has signed a lease agreement for a new location in the Schiecentrale in Rotterdam, positioning itself as an active digital hospitality operator in the Dutch market.
The Schiecentrale was built in 1904 as Rotterdam’s first power station and is now a nationally protected heritage complex. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the city’s best-known multifunctional destinations, housing creative companies, film studios, event venues, restaurants, and a fitness center across eight interconnected buildings. The complex is located in Rotterdam’s Lloydkwartier, one of the city’s most vibrant and culturally dynamic districts. The area attracts both business travelers and tourists throughout the year.
Former hotel within the Schiecentrale to become 24 studios
Limehome will reposition a former hotel within the complex into 24 studio apartments, with an opening planned for Q2 2027. The project is being developed by Dudok Real Estate, a Dutch developer and investor closely connected to the Schiecentrale. Guests will benefit from direct access to the complex’s extensive facilities while staying in the heart of Rotterdam’s creative and economic hub.
This project demonstrates Limehome’s ability to activate underutilized properties within complex heritage environments. As operating costs continue to rise and existing lease agreements expire, owners of landmark real estate projects are increasingly seeking partners with proven concepts to successfully reposition and profitably operate such properties.
Limehome in the rest of the Netherlands and beyond
Limehome opened its first Utrecht location in January 2026. The property is situated in the southwest of the city, in a well-connected district with easy access to the historic city center, the Dom Tower, and Utrecht’s canals.
In Amsterdam, the company operates two locations: a 50-unit property in the Sloterdijk district near the popular Westerpark, part of the mixed-use flagship development Ven Amsterdam, and a boutique property on Leidsekruisstraat in the city center. In The Hague, Limehome manages several properties, including a project on the beach of Scheveningen. In Eindhoven, the company established an early presence, driven by the city’s position as a hub for design and innovation.
Across all Dutch locations, average occupancy rates consistently exceed 90%, even during the low season. According to its website, Limehome started in 2018 and now operates 360 properties across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic, and France. The company is present not only in major cities such as Berlin, Vienna, and Madrid, but also in smaller cities including Augsburg and Darmstadt.
