VITAL, the school catering formula from FHC Formulebeheer, gives the slogan “Food and Whatever” extra meaning. VITAL already stands for tasty and healthy food in balance, so that pupils and teachers can get the best out of themselves every day. With the launch of the VITAL GYM, VITAL is expanding that balance: in addition to healthy food, exercise will take on a more prominent role.

According to Suzanne de Koning, Marketing Manager and responsible for formula development within FHC Formula Management, VITAL GYM fits in seamlessly with the core value Go Healthy. ‘A healthy lifestyle is not just about food and drink. It’s about overall balance. With VITAL GYM, we make exercise accessible and fun, especially at a time when young people are spending more and more time behind a screen.’
Weekly challenges via social media | Participating is easy
VITAL GYM responds to the lives of young people with weekly challenges via TikTok and other social channels. The challenges are demanding but accessible and do not require any special sports equipment. ‘We started 2026 Directly Fit right at the time when New Year’s resolutions are high on many people’s agendas,’ says De Koning.
Collaboration with Floyd FIT and VITAL Personal Trainer Nick Jost
VITAL works together with Floyd FIT for VITAL GYM. Nick Jost provides the weekly exercises and is therefore the VITAL Personal Trainer. This makes it easy for schools, pupils and teams to participate and make exercise part of their daily routine.
Involving PE teachers | VITAL GYM ball for schools
To further encourage exercise at school, VITAL involves PE teachers from schools where the formula is active. They are invited to participate in the weekly challenge and receive a free ball to easily incorporate exercises into lessons or activities. In the coming period, the gym balls will be distributed to affiliated VITAL schools. With VITAL GYM, VITAL wants to inspire schools to get moving together. ‘Young people are the future, so let’s work together to get 2026 off to a fit start,’ concludes Suzanne de Koning.
