Eataly makes its Dutch debut at Schiphol Airport

The opening of the new restaurant is a coup for Schiphol, as it represents Eataly’s debut on the Dutch catering scene. Created by global travel retail and F&B player Avolta. The restaurant centres around an impressive counter offering freshly prepared Pizza alla Pala, filled croissants, classic Italian sweet treats and much more. For travellers without much time to spare, there is a wide range of grab & go goodies, including fresh salads, desserts and juices. Aficionados of Italian coffee will love hanging out at Eataly’s specialty coffee bar. The restaurant can welcome up to 70 customers. Starbucks introduced Tiramisu Cream Cold Foam for this summer

For its Summer 2025 menu at the EMEA markets (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Starbucks took inspiration from Treviso, the birthplace of tiramisu. The iconic dessert is reimagined as a smooth, velvety cold foam, adding a touch of Italian flair to iced drinks.

The Tiramisu Cream Cold Foam pairs perfectly with an Iced Latte, Frappuccino® Blended Beverage, or Iced Oat Shaken Espresso, offering a creamy, subtly sweet upgrade to your summer sip. Highlights include:

  • Tiramisu Cream Iced Latte: A classic iced latte topped with vanilla mascarpone and cocoa.
  • Tiramisu Cream Iced Oat Shaken Espresso: Blonde espresso with oat milk and mocha, finished with tiramisu cold foam.
  • Tiramisu Frappuccino Blended Beverage: A rich blend of mascarpone, vanilla, mocha, and espresso topped with the signature foam.

More details in their press release, link in the title. Apparently they are also brewing on High Protein Cold Foam!

Another Coffee trend | The Iced Coconut Water Americano

We’ve seen many new coffee drinks emerge recently—like the coffee tonic (even here in the Netherlands)—and now, a new craze is taking over the U.S.: the Iced Coconut Water Americano! The sweet, slightly salty coconut water helps to smooth out the bitter notes of espresso, allowing you to better appreciate the coffee’s complexity and highlighting its fruity undertones. As they state in an article on Food & Wine (link in the title).

Partnership with Workplace Pride marks a key milestone in Essendi’s ESG journey

Essendi, a leading hotel owner and operator in Europe, announces a strategic partnership with Workplace Pride during Pride Amsterdam 2025. The agreement will be signed during the 10th edition of the iconic INK goes PINK party at one of Essendi’s hotels, INK Hotel Amsterdam, reinforcing Essendi’s commitment to inclusion and diversity in the hospitality sector across Western Europe. More details in their press release, link in the title. For those that wonder where ESG stands for: Environment, Social and Governance.

New marketing campaign by KFC US features a serious Colonel Sanders, calling on fans to help reclaim its fried chicken crown

The new marketing campaign by KFC features a serious Colonel who ‘would not be happy’ about the chain’s recent market share loss. With fierce competition in the fried chicken market, KFC is doubling down on what made it iconic: freshly prepared Original Recipe® chicken with the Colonel’s legendary blend of 11 herbs and spices.

The brand is inviting fans to try its chicken and share feedback through a “Free Bucket On Us” offer via its app and website. Chef Matty Matheson joins the Colonel in the new campaign, reflecting KFC’s obsessive pursuit of bold flavor. Store signage, billboards, and social media now feature a more serious tone, signalling the brand’s renewed commitment. More details in their press release, link in the title.

Lawa blends Mario Kart and Strava to make movement fun for teens and brands

Lawa is a new mobile game designed to boost physical activity among Dutch adolescents by converting real-world steps into racing power. Dubbed “Mario Kart meets Strava,” it lets users race friends and collect power-ups. Major Dutch brands like Hema, Diergaarde Blijdorp and Burgers’ Zoo support the game through branded tournaments with real-life rewards. Aimed at 11–25-year-olds, Lawa is free to use, with no ads or in-app purchases, and earns revenue through brand activations. It responds to data showing that half of Dutch teens don’t meet daily exercise guidelines. More details in the article on Trendwatching or at the website of Lawa, on which you can download the app!  Interesting for other amusement parks?

Mattel debuted UNO® Social Clubs | Turning the classic card game into the ultimate night out

Mattel launched the first-ever UNO Social Club in Las Vegas—an immersive game night experience combining competition, fun, and social connection. Held at the Palms Casino Resort, the colourful event featured themed rooms, exclusive decks like UNO Golf™ and Show ’em No Mercy™, and a dedicated game host. This unique concept transformed traditional game nights into lively, real-world events. The Las Vegas activation is just the beginning: UNO Social Clubs will pop up across major U.S. cities later this year. A strong example for other brands looking to create experiential, social gaming moments that extend beyond the living room. And for hotels, bars and meeting locations?

The Djuce unbreakable wine glass looks like real glass

Spotted at Instagram and we love the look of these ‘unbreakable glasses’ by Djuce Studio! They are made of Tritan copolyester. This is a tough, BPA-free plastic used to make various products. Products made from Tritan are impact and shatter resistant. Plus, they stay clear and durable, even after years of repeated use and dishwasher cycles. As we spot a lot of horrible looking plastic glassware at pools and beach locations, we think this unbreakable, Swedish design glassware looks way better! More details on their website, link in the title.
