In January, Parkzuid has opened its doors in Amsterdam’s most popular park: the Vondelpark. In the former Filmmuseum, locals, athletes, tourists and families can enjoy a good breakfast or a chopped salad, but also a wide range of comfort food. Everyone has been thought of.

Strandzuid expands family with Parkzuid

Strandzuid has become a well-known concept in Amsterdam. In the summer, the Stadsstrand (city beach) is full of people enjoying the sun, a nice drink and good food. The high standard for which Strandzuid is known is continued by entrepreneurs Michel Pais and Bram van Es in Parkzuid. In addition to the fact that both locations have a view of a park (Beatrixpark vs. Vondelpark), the necessary attention is paid to the quality of the service, the atmosphere, the bar, the kitchen and the presentation of the food. Strandzuid and Parkzuid go hand in hand.

Salads and guilty pleasures on the menu

Guests are welcome from 10:00 in the morning for a good breakfast. Think of chia porridge with cocoa, almond milk, granola and mandarin or eggs Florentine. The lunch consists of a number of healthy dishes, such as various chopped salads (no cutting necessary, so nice and easy!) and sandwiches, but there is plenty of choice in fine comfort food as well, the guilty pleasures, such as a good hamburger and pizzas. But you can also go to Parkzuid for a nice piece of apple pie with a cappuccino, a portion of our famous Dutch bitterballen with a beer or vegetarian options. From mid-March, Parkzuid will also open its doors in the evening and the terrace will extend to the entire front and the landing of the elegant building. Ready for long, sultry summer evenings under the starry sky of Amsterdam. And yes, guests can also order à la carte on the grand terrace.

Outside in

Parkzuid is located in the historic Vondelparkpaviljoen, one of the most beautiful buildings in Amsterdam. Also known as the Filmmuseum that was housed there from 1972 to 2012. The pavilion was designed by Willem Hamer and built between 1874 and 1881 on the lowest point of the city, in the Vondelpark. And that park can also be found inside. In the form of different shades of green, the use of wood, many plants and a moss wall. The interior is spacious and brings the outside in. Several walls have been decorated with paintings or converted into poster walls, as a link to the history of the Filmmuseum. In addition to a good and cozy restaurant with one of the largest terraces in the city, Parkzuid, like Strandzuid, functions as an ideal event location where history and nature come together.
