Ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s started a Facebook campaign for their Greek frozen yoghurt. The algorithm designed for this tool searches the ideal spooning partner according to your likes and interests to share the treat.

Antwerp Tastes

‘Antwerpen Proeft’ (Antwerp Tastes) is Belgium’s culinary highlight this summer. Chefs with a 15+ ranking in the Gault&Millau BeLux will cook all-in arrangements as well as bites for visitors. The Chéfs that participate this year are Viki Geunes (‘t Zilte), Wouter Keersmaekers (De Schone van Boskoop), Axel Colonna-Cesari (Centpourcent), Dave De Belder (De Godevaart) and Kaasaffineurs Michel Van Tricht & Zoon (cheese and beer pairing experts).

 

Next to the prominent chefs there are local and artisanal products like hand made Moon Pops ice creams.

Cooking with hay

It has been done for centuries, but may sound not that common anymore; cooking with hay. It has many applications and several chef use hay in the kitchen. For example, Heston Blumenthal uses hay to smoke his mackerel, restaurant North Road in London serves hay-baked rabbit and Restaurant Jean Georges even serves hay-flavored ice cream.

McDonald’s Timetable

At the main train station Warschau in Poland you can see this McDonald’s Timetable. At the Timetable you can see the departure times of the train and it also tells you how long you should wait in burgers, colas, chips and ice creams. This way you can assess whether you have time to eat something. Watch the video.

Mangusto is a new lunch room and winebar in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. From June 15, guests can enjoy the Italian ice cream, paninis or just a glass of wine or prosecco.

Greek yogurt with toppings instead of yogurt ice cream! Spotted in Singapore, we haven’t seen this in the Netherlands yet! With low fat Greek yogurt and the right ingredients it is a good alternative for Ice cream.

Flaming cupcake

Baked Alaska is a layered dessert consisting of cake, ice cream and sweet meringue. To make the blue-flame, turn down the lights and sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of warm brandy over each meringue-coated cupcake. Ignite with a grill lighter or a long fireplace match.

Cupcake machine

Sprinkles Cupcakes (worlds first cupcake bakery) is planning to open a cupcake machine in Beverly Hills. The machine provides fresh cupcakes with a choice of different cupcake mix and sprinkles 24-hours a day. The owner Candace Nelson also plans to open a Spinkles Ice Cream store.

Rock artist inspired Kelloggs

Rock artist Tim Burgess (from the band The Charlatans) posted on twitter that he would like to design his own cereal brand and name it ‘Totes Amazeballs’. Kellogg’s (UK) saw his tweet and made it come true. Totes Amazeballs has the taste of Rocky Road and ice cream with a crunchy mix of chocolate, marshmallows, shortbread and raisins. The cereal was intended just for Burgess, but because of so many positive reactions on Twitter they think about bringing the cereal on the market.
