Every day we spot fun, new concepts. This week a creative breakfast, lunch and coffee concept in Breda: DILEMMA Kitchen, another new smash burger concept this time from the THE BUTCHER chain in Amsterdam and a new location of the Sojubar at the Westfield Mall of The Netherlands in Leidschendam.

DILEMMA Kitchen by Emma Hopstaken opened in Breda in January, she provides private dining, catering, pasta workshops and breakfast and lunch on Friday and the weekends. The Sojubar in the Mall opened last week, they serve K-food and drinks (possibly a cocktail with Soju). And THE BUTCHER Smashed Burger is the chain’s first outlet where they specialise in the trendy smash burgers. This location will open its doors on April 28th on the Albert Cuypstraat!

A new meeting place on the Oude Binnenweg! Fine dining restaurant Terroir Grand Cru, opened in Hulst early January. In the heart of the southern region Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, chef Colin de Moor serves the flavours of this region combined with influences from further afield. And on the Amstelveenseweg in Amsterdam, Jahagir’s Kitchen opened in February. The Jahagir brothers serve the rich, diverse flavours of India with a modern twist.

Every day we spot fun, new concepts. This week, three new concepts, in Scheveningen and two in our “own” city of Leiden. After successful establishments at Market 27 and Market 33, two urban food stations in Amsterdam, Granelli is now also serving its artisanal Italian dishes in the lively Foodhall Scheveningen. ‘Bij Daaf & Maan’ is a cosy coffee and lunch shop in a characteristic corner building on the Nieuwe Rijn in Leiden, where you can enjoy creative coffees, fresh tea and local sweets. And late last year, Café de Gaper opened at Rapenburg 97 in Leiden. And there they are making guests happy with delicious food, fine wines, affordable and a casual ambiance.

Every day, we spot fun, new concepts. This week, three new concepts from Meppel, The Hague and Hilversum. Restaurant Element in the old gas factory in Meppel has 34 seats. Chef Niels Noorman serves a fine dining menu and Joleen Dannenburg takes care of the wines, many of which she serves by the glass. Restobar Moos located on the Fred in The Hague is the first restaurant of Shimo Verbaan, the owner of FourParties Horeca Uitzendbeau. The restobar is also directly opposite the office, ideal for the Friday office drinks! And Emmanuelle recently opened in Hilversum, a new hotspot where the seductive charm of French cinema meets classic French cuisine. With on the menu, for example, ‘rillettes de carnard’, ‘truite fumé maison’, ‘escargots gratinés’, ‘moules frites’ and ‘côte de boeuf’.

Every day, we spot fun, new concepts. This week, three new concepts from Voorschoten, Schipluiden and Echt. Samy’s Gourmet Sandwiches in Voorschoten has a menu of freshly prepared sandwiches with a surprising twist! The business is owner Jessamy’s dream and her absolute favourite sandwich on the menu is the Satay sandwich with chicken thigh, peanut sauce, coleslaw, sambal and crispy onions on farmer’s bread. In Schipluiden, restaurant Aan de Zweth has been taken over by young entrepreneurs: chef Justin Koopman and hostess Indy Chiron Akkermans. We like their special menu to celebrate the former chef Joris Peters and the new chef, this month. And in the South of the Netherlands in Echt, in an old roof tile factory, restaurant Notable has opened. At their chef’s table you will experience the hospitality, craft and creativity of chef Vital Awick and sommelier Adriaan Visser.

Located on the Herengracht in Weesp, Café Restaurant Amice has a cosy, warm ambiance and of course a ‘Weespermop parfait’ (a delicious local cookie) on the menu! Loop51 is a special brunch concept where you immerse yourself in a club during the day! They combine brunch with vinyl and if you want to dance… you’re welcome to. And fine-dining restaurant NORRA will open in Bilthoven on April 2nd. It will be Lieke Nicole-Creemers’ second restaurant, alongside restaurant Le Nord, which is undergoing a culinary formula change this week. An old favourite dish of ours is on the menu here: ‘Pizza Thon’, originally from Las Vegas and always on the menu at Joop Braakhekke’s former restaurant Le Garage in Amsterdam.
