In Oosterbeek (the Netherlands) cooking shop ‘bij )O(dette’ and caterer Sedap Catering joined forces. Visitors can take away an Indonesian meal or dish every Thursday afternoon. With the collaboration both entrepreneurs provide cross-selling opportunities for each other and strengthen their passion for cooking.

The Manta Resort, located near Pemba Island (East coast of Africa) is surrounded by white beaches and clear blue water. In the middle of the ocean, The Manta Resort opened their 17th hotel room ‘The Manta Underwater Room’ on November 1, 2013. Guests can both above and below water enjoy the beautiful nature. ‘The Manta Underwater Room’ has three floors. The middle deck has a lounge area with a bathroom and via a ladder guests can go to the upper deck where they can sunbathe. Downstairs guests can immerse themselves in the world of the sea. The room has a double bed and the walls of glass give a 360 degrees view of the sea. During the evening hours when the spotlights are on, the magical underwater world will be visible. All kinds of fish, coral, octopus and perhaps dolphins are visible, it really makes you feel like you’re part of the underwater world. Bar Restaurant Level serves mini version of famous burger

Bar Restaurant Level Rotterdam will present their new sliders during Bubbles & Burgers on November 28. The sliders are a smaller version of the famous Level Burger which was voted as the best burger in Rotterdam. The burger is made of organic beef with bacon, cheddar and tartar sauce. The smaller variant is ideal as a snack that you can combine with bubbles. During the first edition of Bubbles & Burger the gin and tonics are provided by Gin and Tonic Club with jazzy music by a dj in a living room setting.

The BaseCamp Young Hostel in Bonn

A new hostel has opened in Bonn, Germany. ‘The BaseCamp Young Hostel Bonn is located inside a former storage facility, it’s a covered campsite with a hostel feeling. All the ‘rooms’ of the hotel are camping trailers and other retro vehicles. The hostel accommodates 120 beds across 15 caravans, trailers and airstreams. The rates for a night range from €54 up to €76. The hotel is an idea of the German hotelier Michael Schlösser and is in business as from August. The trailers, airstreams and caravans are all classic models that definitely remind many of the holiday experiences of their childhood. Bombay Sapphire gin has recently introduced a new gin; the Bombay Sapphire East. This gin contains 12 different herbs. The recipe of the Bombay Sapphire East is based on the original Bombay Sapphire recipe with the same ingredients like the juniper berries, lemon peel, almonds, coriander and liquorice. For this edition oriental herbs are added: lemongrass and black peppercorns. The result is a light citrus gin in the nose and a complex spicy aftertaste.

Fruit and chocolate is a familiar and popular combination, and it comprises a (bit) healthier sweet-treat too. The ‘Forbidden Fruit NYC’ shop offers a varied assortment of fruit dipped in white/ milk/ dark chocolate sprinkled with toppings such as walnuts, coconut and sprinkles. The range of fruit consists of bananas, strawberries, oranges dipped in chocolate. But also apple slices, raspberries, blackberries and pineapples are available as well. Each month there is a chocolate-of-the-month available, like spicy Mexican chocolate, cinnamon chocolate or peppermint chocolate. Who says you need grapes to make a fine wine? Wine maker Pascal Miche uses tomatoes to produce the special Omerto tomato wine. Omerto is the very first aperitif tomato wine in the world. Four generations ago the family recipe for the tomato wine was invented in Belgium, but the wine is now produced in Baie St-Paul, Canada. The wine is made from a special blend of heirloom tomatoes. The entire process, from field to bottle lasts about nine months.

The Manhatten hotel in Rotterdam adapts to the Twitter hype in the Netherlands. The hotel is the first hotel in the Netherlands who has a twittering concierge. The concierge Lesley Klavert keeps the guests informed by Twitter about tourist attractions, restaurants, nightlife and events in Rotterdam. Guests can also ask questions via the Twitter account @conciergeRTM. Through the Twitter by the concierge, the hotel can keep the guests informed even before they come to Rotterdam.
