The MAMAdiner (mommy dinner) is a special dinner for new mums (in the Netherlands) to spoil them extra in the postpartum period. The dishes are created by famous chefs and can be prepared by the maternity nurse, partner, friends, family or colleagues.
Russian Babochki Anticafé lets consumers drink and eat for free, but they are charged by the minutes they spend in the café. Creating a space where consumers can relax and pursue their favorite diversions, the venue offers tea, coffee and desserts at no charge, guests can bring their own refreshments as well. An assortment of board games, Xbox games, wifi and a cinema hall are on hand for entertainment.
With the BarTune app, guests can choose the music they want to hear. To do this go to one of the participating bars, login and pick their favourite song from the available tracklist.
The Crescent Moon Tower is a design project by Transparence House and is submitted to the 11th Thyssenkrup Elevator Architecture Award. This building design symbolizes Dubai as part of the islamic world and shows the technology and economic development in Dubai. The building accommodates a childrens library, a conference facility, a restaurant, multiple cafés and an open air observation platform. If the design will be build, it is said to be completed in 2015 along with it’s sister project the “Full Moon Hotel”, resembling the Death Star form Star Wars.
Guest speaker at the Battle of the Cheetahs , Oogst 1000 Wonderland is a design for a self-sufficient farm, restaurant, hotel and amusement park for 1,000 people per day. Food for the restaurant comes from the central structure and directly adjacent fields. They combine fun with usefulness. Hotel guests are also the farmers, when you work, you can stay for free. Oogst 1000 does also has the worlds first toilets that are linked to a bio-gas energy system and were you actually get paid € 0.50 per visit.
The New York company Chandelier Creative created Surf Shack in Montaux. This is a weekend destination, exclusive for employees, clients and friends, to relax and to get inspired. Also, they cultivate special honey, which are created and packaged by employees, and serves as a gift to the weekend-guests.
A nice example of storytelling! When guests make a reservation at The Fat Duck, the storytelling begins. The ultimate experience of this 3 Michelin star-restaurant. Watch the movie, it is definetly worth it. And if possible, make a reservation and experience it 😉
In the Seattle neighborhood Beacon Hill, a food oasis will be created on three hectares. Chestnut and walnut trees , blueberry and raspberrybushes, apple, pear trees and more will be planted. The park is public and the fruits can be picked for free. It’s expected that the park will be built this summer.
Day Use Hotels is an online guide that gives an overview of hotels which rent rooms for a few hours. The prices are 30% to 70% cheaper compared to the standard one night reservations. Currently the list count 200 hotels in Europe. There is also an app available of the ‘Day Use Hotels’.
