We saw this before in South Korea, where the supermarket chain Tesco developed a virtual shop at a subway station. The British online supermarket ‘Ocado’ created a shopping wall in a mall in the centre of London, where people can select their groceries by using their smarthphone and QR scanner. The groceries are directly ordered online and by the time they arrive at home, the groceries are delivered.
This week, Japanese restaurant Ichi-e (which means a meeting or rendez-vous) opened its doors officially at the Arena Boulevard in Amsterdam. The three-story building features a sushibar and take-away on the ground floor. The first floor features the Robota Grill restaurant, where guests can enjoy shared-dining grilled meals. On the top floor, the restaurant offers the Densha Lounge (which means ‘train’ in Japanese) where guests can order bite-size snacks. This lounge is as well suitable for meetings or other private (company) parties. Besides, Ichi-e offers as well sake-tastings where guests can taste different kinds of sake.
Curious what will be on the menu in 2020. The weekend of the 24th and 25th of September is the Foodlab at the Schouwburgplein in Rotterdam. There will be all kinds of extraordinarily foods. Due to its great success, the cocktail bar also pops-up at informal locations at people’s homes. This summer he opened a cocktail bar in Brooklyn.
