On Monday night it’s ‘open kitchen’ night at nightclub Le Troisième Lieu, where amateur-chefs can cook for guests. Dinner costs € 12,=. This concept was spotted before, but then the chef had to bring his own guests.

Crowdsourced ice cream

Ice cream parlor Giapo in Auckland, New Zealand makes ice cream of locally  and organically grown fruit. In exchange, the growers are paid out in…ice cream! The fruit is randomly tested to see if the fruit doesn’t contain any pesticides. The ice cream parlor creates surprising flavors like Chocolate Chili and Spirulina (a type of algae).

D&G Martini drink

The Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana developed a new drink, in collaboration with Martini. The new drink will be reveiled during Milan’s fashion week and will be in the style of the 20th anniversary of the male collection of D&G.

Coca Cola and Manolo Blahnik

After Karl Lagerfeld shoe designer Manolo Blahnik has designed a bottle for Coca Cola Light. The special bottle is part of the Celebrate Life campaign and is available from Saturday August 7th with items developed by the Vero Moda Celebrate Life collection.

We spotted the French fastservice, Roulegalette, (French crêpes) and wondered when the first Dutch “pancake to go” would start. Via Twitter the “pannenkoekenbus” (pancake bus) reacted within a few minutes. Young entrepreneurs Robin and Gerard, who got the idea while waiting for the bus to school, combined their part time job in a pancake restaurant with a bus.

Kamelka, chocolates made of camelmilk. On May 8th they launched the product in Den Bosch, the Dutch ‘Capital of Taste, 2010’. The product is a collaboration from Syntens Design, Pressure Cooker Food & Agri Working Group.

In Belgium they serve hoppas instead of tapas
