Now you can order a movie next to your pizza at Domino’s in the UK, from the Domino’s Pizza Box Office Service. After ordering, clients receive a code to start downloading. Recent movies can be downloaded, but classic movies such as Dirty Dancing as well.
In 17 different US Starbucks locations, the coffee chain is trialing tabletop pads. By putting down your phone or mobile device on the table, it gets wireless charged. The pilot ends this end of the year with a probably further rollout in 2013.
On December 15th, one-off pop-up Restaurant ONKRUID (in English: Weed) will open its doors for vegetarian foodies, somewhere in Amsterdam. The exact location is still a secret. A complete vegetable four course dinner will be served, prepared by caterer DopHert.
Jamie Oliver introduced his own line of healthy, on-the-go lunch options for busy commuters at the UK pharmacy chain Boots. The line, Jamie Does Lunch, features 21 deli-inspired options ranging from sandwiches and wraps to salads and dips.
Restaurant Atfaluna in the Gaza Strip is now following suit in the hope of breaking down barriers for deaf people in Palestinian society. Atfaluna works with deaf people in the restaurant. Given that deafness was until very recently considered to be a mental disability in the country, the enterprise aims to showcase the talents of those with hearing difficulties and well as help them engage with their community.
