Designer Liz Müller designed together with a team of local artists the new Starbucks in Amsterdam. The Starbucks is furnished with oak furniture, antique Delfts tiles and the wall consists of recycled inner tubes of old bicycle tires. The ceiling consists of over 1800 carved blocks. Starbucks will be opened this Friday in Amsterdam.
Architect Kengo Kuma redesigned the interior of a Starbucks store in Japan, that gives customers the feeling that they are surrounded by trees.
In the Seattle neighborhood Beacon Hill, a food oasis will be created on three hectares. Chestnut and walnut trees , blueberry and raspberrybushes, apple, pear trees and more will be planted. The park is public and the fruits can be picked for free. It’s expected that the park will be built this summer.
Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong hotel will soon have the world’s tallest chef table. On the 102nd floor of the hotel (420 meters above sea level) the Chef’s Table is set in a private dining room with an open kitchen. The table is available for up to eight guests and bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Sem Schuurkes and Pieter Tilburg devised ‘City Hub’, a budget hotel concept. The “city hubs” are stand alone objects that can be easily placed in buildings.
