A retired Boeing 747 at Stockholm airport is upcycled to a hotel. Because of its location the ‘Jumbo Stay’ hotel concept is ideal for early or late flights. Initiator Oscar Dios is looking for possibilities to duplicate the idea at more airports.

An inventive taxi driver from London hopes to make some more money during the Olympics. He transformed his taxi into a hotel room, including a single bed, a small fridge, a radio and iPad. However, the hotel guest should take the working hours of the taxi driver into account.

The restaurant can withstand sub-zero temperatures, wind speeds of up to 125 miles per hour and heavy snowfall during the winter. Restaurant Aan Zee Oostervoorne’ (The Netherlands) is build of natural and sustainable material. All energy is obtained by solar panels on the roof, solar water heaters and windmills. In the summer the warmth is stored in the ground. The waste water is purified in a helofyte-field and the rainwater is filtered in the sand dunes. Therefore no sewage system is needed.
