In the spring of 2012, Amsterdam started a pitch to develop a new destination for the unused Overhoeks tower in Amsterdam, the old Shell building. Last October the 4th, club owner Sander Groet (Club AIR, Amsterdam) is announced to winner to create the new destination. The plan shows us the new destination of several headquarters, but as well several restaurants, clubs and a hotel.
Pop-up restaurant bar BAUT opens in the Wibautstraat on Friday the 12th of October. The kitchen of this 900 square meter restaurant is managed by chef Michiel van der Eerde. The doors close on the 31st of December 2014 because of urban renewal plans in the area. This restaurant is the first by the ‘Nu of Nooit’ (Now or never) company. The start-up by Job Keja, Michiel van der Eerde and Dick Leijen is focused on temporary and durable entrepreneurship in empty buildings.

The first underwater nightclub opened at the Niyama Resort in the Maldives. Experience your own Cousteau moment with a cocktail at the Subsix bar, located 500 meters offshore.
Consumers can now pick up their online ordered Click & Collect items of the Dutch warehouse Vroom & Dreesman at one of the La Place restaurants along the highway. This is for the consumer as well as for the restaurants an easy service. Consumers can easily park their car for free and the restaurants might receive more guests.

Music store Concerto adds a coffee bar to its shop in the Utrechtsestraat, Amsterdam. The well trained baristas have a special heart for music and are part of a cultural meetinghub with two big reading tables, a lounge corner and a performance stage.
The Velopresso is a mobile pedal powered coffee bar. The stylish designed verhicle is silent, environmental friendly and doesn’t depend on power supply.
Last summer the roof terrace of the Netil360 building in Hackney (London) was often a bubbley scene. Asher Charman organized ‘Hottub Cinema’ nights, where people enjoyed cinema and champagne from inflatable hot tubs.
Corio and Biet & Boon are working together to develop a pop-up roof garden project on shopping mall Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht. The harvest goes to local restaurants, offices and volunteers. Earlier this year the largest roof garden opened in Amsterdam.
