The ice hotel in Québec in Canada, called Hotel de Glace, is the most famous hotel, which opens each winter since 2001. Coming winter this hotel opens its door on January 5 till March 24. In the Swedish village Jukkasjärvi, the ice hotel opens already on December 7. It features also a bar and several ice sculptures created by several artists.

On December 15th, one-off pop-up Restaurant ONKRUID (in English: Weed) will open its doors for vegetarian foodies, somewhere in Amsterdam. The exact location is still a secret. A complete vegetable four course dinner will be served, prepared by caterer DopHert.
Restaurant El Montero is located in the city of Saltillo in the Mexican state of Coahuila. The surrounding area consists of desert, which is reflected in the visual and culinary style of the restaurant. The branding and interior, with the eye-catching custom-created chandelier, are designed by creative agency Anagrama.

From 12.30 to 13.30 o’clock the trucks serve a free lunch to get attention for the lack of food diversity on the streets of the capital. Most of the mobile food stands sell hotdogs or ‘oliebollen’ (deep-fried dough). The Food Line-Up and its initiator Lotte Wouters want to motivate the government to take the New York policy for food trucks as an example. The streets in New York provide a huge diversity of food trucks that are used by all social classes and backgrounds.
