Bakery Borgesius will open its new concept ‘the Bakery Cafe’ in Groningen the Netherlands on Sunday, December 7th. At ‘the Bakery Cafe’ visitors can consume bread that they have cut themselves at the bread table. When they order sandwich filling they can take unlimited use of the bread. The bread is fresh and mostly organic. Consumers can also drink a cup of coffee, tea, beer and more drinks. The interior of the cafe is made from natural materials and has a natural and quiet appearance.

Lakrids and Cool green events are organizing a mini workshop with licorice candy on Saturday September 28th at the World Food Festival in Rotterdam. During the workshop you will discover the many possibilities of cooking with licorice. Lakrids has a wide collection of licorice products, from beer to syrups. With these products will be experimented during the cooking and baking. To conclude the workshop a special dish will be served with matching drinks.

During the opening of the Avocado Festival in Los Angeles, Angel City Brewery introduced a on guacamole inspired ‘Avocado Ale’. This special beer is made from a blend of Californian avocado, coriander, garlic, red pepper and lime. Ingredients that you normally use for guacamole. We are wondering if this beer also tastes delicious with tortilla chips?

Restaurant Grand Cabaret in Belgium serves tattooed meat with ink based on Belgian top beers, a culinary world first. Chef Vincent Florizoone experimented with his American chef Nicholas Harmon and they succeeded to develop an edible tattoo liquid based on squid ink and Belgian beer. The technique they have used impregnates the taste of the beer in a subtle way in the meat or fish. The chefs have learned how to make a tattoo during a master class of tattoo artist Tattoo Louis from Kortrijk in Belgium.

Together with agency Wieden & Kennedy New York, the beer brand challenges passengers to play the ‘Departure Roulette’ at Kennedy Airport. Passengers with their passport and tickets already in their hands, could change their flight to an unexpected destination. The ‘Departure Roulette’ is inspired by the new Heineken campaign that previously sent four men to remote destinations and filmed their adventures, launched by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam.

Brewery Duvel Moortgat organizes master classes of cheese and beer tastings in cooperation with cheese specialists Michel and Frederic van Tricht. For each type of beer you can find a suitable cheese and vice versa. The cheers sessions start with a fragile cheese and a light beer and end with a strong cheese and beer. Combinations are for example Liefmans Cuvée Brut with a blue cheese or La Chouffe blond with Munster Fermier cheese, a hard cheese with a red crust.

A new all-inclusive restaurant recently opened in Amsterdam. Restaurant View gives the all you can eat concept a special twist. Guests can prepare their dishes at the table, where literally a world of flavors passes by. The guests stay seated, because the plates (yellow for chicken, blue for fish, red for meat and green for vegetables) pass the tables on a moving conveyor belt. At their own table they can prepare the dishes on a grill. For € 34,50 guests can eat and drink (beer & wine)unlimited for two hours.

Budweiser introduces the new beer glass ‘Buddy Cup’ with a chip that picks the signal of the nearest ‘Buddy Cup’. To connect the cup with a Facebook account, you need to scan the QR code at the bottom of the cup with a smartphone. When you toast, the red light will turn on and the toast is confirmed with a friend request on Facebook.
