Special Japanese wine to Holland

The wellknown Dutch sommelier Edwin Raben brings a special Japanese wine on the Dutch market. It’s not about Japanese rice wine, but wine made from the Koshu grape. The wine is called “Shizen” which means nature in Japanese.
Google is about to serve the restaurant guests

Google wants to serve information to users without them searching for something, but based on their browsing or location profile, “contextual discovery”. For example: If you’re in a restaurant, Google can, based on the location of your mobile, provide you automatically a message with a link to the menu, along with indications of what your friends like to eat. Coming in 2011.

The American-review site Yelp launched on December 8 in The Netherlands. They do start with only reviews from the Amsterdam area. People who do not live in Amsterdam can also write a review. Besides restaurants there are many other testimonials about: shopping, beauty and spa, hotels and travel, nightlife and local services.
Burger King opens Dessert Bar

Burger King opened its first stand-alone Dessert Bar in a shopping mall in London. At the Dessert Bar you can buy pancakes, brownies, cakes, muffins and ice cream. If the bar proves to be a success more will follow in the United Kingdom.
New Heineken bottle

Heineken will soon introduce a new bottle. The new bottle will get a slightly longer neck with a slight indentation where the name Heineken vertically is shown. The bottles serve as black lights in the dark.
Inspiration from Austria

Nice tradition in Austria, on Dec. 31 there is a special wish for everybody: “Einen guten Rutsch ins neues Jahr” and at the tables in restaurants one will find chocolate coins, garlands, chocolate chimney sweepers and clovers! To wish their guests prosperity to come. A fun tradition that certainly is much appreciated by the children.

Already spotted earlier in March but the use at Christmastime is more spectacular. The aerosol of The Deli Garage which gives fruit, vegetables and other kinds of food a gold or silver look. The greatest detail is that the food remains edible!

Wholesaler and importer of fresh food Vroegop-Windig recently introduced a special mushroom, the Matsutake mushroom. The Matsutake is a Japanese mushroom that has both a spicy and fruity smell, the taste of the mushroom has a hint of cinnamon. The price for this Japanese “truffle” is because of its exclusivity higher than average for a mushroom.

Delta Airlines and restaurant operator OTG Management on JFK and LaGuardia Airport in New York launched a new initiative. Passengers can order food from participating restaurants(at the airport) near departure gates in various special iPad kiosks. The food is then delivered at the gate within ten minutes. Besides ordering the iPads can also be used for checking flights and playing music.
