On November 3rd La Maison du Chocolat in New York is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special event ‘La Nuit du Gateau’. The entire evening will be dedicated to all sorts of delicacies such as chocolate, pastries, and desserts. The event is open to the public and also completely free of charge.

The young French designer Emily Demers Moreau came up with a creative way to offer small portions of salt. The salt servings are in inside a number of leaflets which together form a flower. The leaves can be picked separately.
7 coffee flavours, 7 charities

Project7 coffee is produced at small organic farms that are Fair Trade certified. The coffee is called Project7 because there are seven different types of coffee each supporting a charity. The charities that are supported include ‘Heal the Sick’ and ‘Feed the Hungry’.

The Free Cafe at Harimaya Station in Japan offers customers free drinks and snacks at any time of day. Inventor of this concept Honten Maya Hari, a known producer of rice crackers in Japan. Guests can enjoy freshly brewed tea or coffee with a rice cracker. There are now seven of these Hari Maya cafes in Japan and next to advertising its rice crackers, Honten hopes that people will become more environmentally aware and treat ech other woth more respect after a visit to one of his pubs.

Poppe Restaurant in Zwolle, The Netherlands, launched a concept where a chef and waiters come to your house to cook and serve. The concept is called ‘Poppe at home’ and ensures that people at home can focus on a pleasant culinary evening without having to worry about the food. The cost of ‘Poppe at home’ are limited by a small surcharge on the menu prices, not the drinks. It is also possible to order dishes that are not on the menu.
