Ostrich dinner Food Forward

How do we feed our cities in the future? That is a central question at the Food Forward exhibition in The Hague from the 15th of January till the 1st of April. This December Arne Hendriks and Harold de Bree cooked an ostrich as if it was a giant chicken. If humans would shrink to 50 centimeters, chickens would provide the same amount of meat in comparison. According to Arne Hendriks, the solution to food problems lies in shrinking people. This is one of the solutions shown at ‘Food Forward’, some solutions are more realistic than others.

QR game at Horecava

An interactive QR game has been developed by the Dutch Hotel & Restaurant Association and Deli XL. The game shows visitors of the Dutch Horecava Fair different possibilities of mobile communication and creates a more intense experience of the fair.

Van Spronsen & Partners hospitality consultancy has researched the wellness branch in the Netherlands. The focus of this research is the visitors’ view. The results of 800 questionnaires provide a clear and honest picture of both the visitors and non-visitors. The Dutch report provides insights on the motives and thoughts of the non-visitors (and thus potential visitors) and gives wellness related companies the tools to anticipate on the expectations of their target group.

We spotted the wild-knitting trend before, but now the Dutch potato/fries company Aviko is letting grannies wild-knitting in bus stops. Grannies were asked to come to the city Arnhem to participate in a wild-knitting event for charity. Wild -knitting is a trend were several objects on the street, from trees to lampposts, are being dressed with knitwear.

The new commercial campaign of the American cooking channel Pillsbury allows Shazam users to scan the commercial. Hereby the viewer receives several recipes and further product information.

Choose your neighbour at the airplane

From the beginning of 2012, passengers of KLM can choose their own neighbour by selecting an interesting contact through using Facebook of LinkedIn. After check-in, passengers can open up their profiles. In 2012 a pilot will be started.

Dining in the cinema

Michelin-starred chef Rowley Leigh is offering cinema visitors gourmet food while they watch the film. Instead of popcorn or nacho chips you can order burgers or risotto at the Odeon Whiteleys cinema in West-London. If you order when you arrive, your meal will be served when the trailers are on and you can have your dinner while watching the movie.
