De weirdest hotel room in the world is to be found at the Sala Silverminehotel in Sweden. Guests can sleep here 152 meter below the surface and the only way to get there is through the shaft. The hotel room cost €440,= euro per night, complete with a luxurious bed, silver furniture and champagne. Communication with the reception is only possible with an intercom, the temperature is a cozy 18 degrees due to a warm air bubble in the cave.

Restaurants help casualties hurricane

Hurricane Irene has done a lot of damage in the state of New York. Many farmers lost their harvest. To help these farmers and other casualties of the hurricane, over 100 restaurants in New York have donated 10% of their day revenue last Sunday. These revenues were donated to a charity fund that helps casualties from the hurricane Irene.

Disney took the first step towards the hotel industry by opening Aulani Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, which is a hotel outside the theme parks. The hotel covers an area of 21 acres and features over 800 rooms. The hotel offers several Disney ‘experiences’ like several swimming pools with activities such as diving and snorkeling, and a beach house which offers kids-entertainment. For the adults, the hotel offers a spa and several restaurants.
