Several major restaurant chains in Japan have their own salad machine. The machine provides 60 heads of lettuce per day and ensures that restaurants are provided with the right quality of lettuce. The machine, called “Chef’s Farm” grows lettuce without sunlight. The machine uses 12 fluorescent lamps of 40 watts. The machine is made by Dentsu Facility Management Inc. and is only available in Japan for € 75,000, =.

World’s first Aston Martin Club Lounge has opened its doors. The club opened in the upscale district of Dempsey Hill, Singapore. The interior of the club refers to the famous British car brand, so there are tables made from Aston Martin rims and on the walls different prints of famous Aston Martin are displayed. The drinks in this exclusive lounge are named after Aston Martin cars.

Grolsch beer wants to improve the experience for visitors of restaurants and entrepreneurs. Therefore Grolsch launched the ‘Music Glass Line. The glasses are called: Soul, Funk, Pop, Jazz, Blues, and Classic Rock. With this new line Grolsch want to inderline its relationship with live music. The new glasses will be introduced in hotels and restaurants the next few weeks.

A bar in San Francisco has created a special menu for its visitors. The Beer & shots are composed of different types of beer and liquor. Combinations are: Pilsner Urquell & Bols Genever, Session Lager & Black Buffalo Trace Bourbon Pumpkin Ale & Zaya Rum, Moose Drool & Dickel and Tennessee Whiskey and Session Lager & Black Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Starbucks has teamed up with Yahoo and rolled out a digital network in the U.S.. In 6.800 Starbucks stores in the U.S. customers can visit online news sites that usually are not free of charge. The network consists of six channels: news, entertainment, wellness, business, careers, and a Starbucks channel. Besides the news, restaurant reviews, music and videos are also available. The network is suitable for a wide variety of devices such iPads, Blackberry, and Android phones.

Customers of Blue State Coffee shops in Providence in the U.S. can decide for their own to which charity the coffee chain donates part of its revenue. With every coffee purchased, the customer receives a coin, this coin can then be placed in different containers. Each box represents a good cause. Since its opening in 2007 Blue State Coffee has donated more than $ 175,000 to over 50 charities.
