3-Star restaurant Oud Sluis (the Netherlands) led by Sergio Herman serves from now on special coffees. With the Antwerp espresso roaster La Marzocco Linea from the brand CaffèNation Dopio espresso, cappuccino and latte can be made. Benjamin de Buck, host of Oud Sluis, followed a special barista course how to use the machine.
Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong hotel will soon have the world’s tallest chef table. On the 102nd floor of the hotel (420 meters above sea level) the Chef’s Table is set in a private dining room with an open kitchen. The table is available for up to eight guests and bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Domino’s uses social media in an attractive and integrated way. When someone is tweeting something about dinner, Domino’s is using this for their marketing. Watch the movie.
The organic saffron farm Lo Zaff sells saffron tea since 2011. The tradition of saffron tea goes back for centuries and is a natural medicine against depression, reduced vision, insomnia and memory loss. The Eater Dating site matches singles based on common interests in food and follows the same successful formula of HowAboutWe by matching singles instead of just focusing on profiles, photos and online conversations.
The WaterBOB Emergency Drinking Water Storage turns un-purificated water into drinking water. A nice example for hotels to work sustainable! Watch the video for further explanation!
The Canadian company SYSTEMATEKS creates adjustable and personalized systems. For the Interior Design Show in Toronto they designed a modular Eco-Bar. The Eco-Bar consists of a grid with removable panels that can be adapted in racks, cabinets or (transparent) panels. The bar is also equipped with solar panels that provide power and it collects rainwater to watering the plants.
Sem Schuurkes and Pieter Tilburg devised ‘City Hub’, a budget hotel concept. The “city hubs” are stand alone objects that can be easily placed in buildings. And through crowfunding, they want to collect enough money for this concept. A beta version is launched in Amsterdam this April. Watch the movie for an impression!
Starbucks opened their first ‘ski-thru’ in Squaw Valley California. Coffee lovers can now enjoy a cup of coffee on top of the slope at a height of 2400 meters. They also opened a seating area for the less fanatical skiers. Watch the video!
