When entering the theater of Amsterdam, visitors receive a keychain with a RFID chip attached, which is connected to your Facebook-account. You can automatically update your profile by holding the keychain in front of the SowiSocial-desks.

The first Twittertaxi is a hit. The Amsterdam taxi driver Dave Kuipers is active on Twitter since last summer and his account now has 700 followers. People who need a taxi just need to send a Tweet. In his taxi Kuipers offers his customers the possibility to play with an iPad, which are at the headrests of the front seat.

The Champagne extinguisher

The latest creation of the Amsterdam artist Diddo Velema is the champagne extinguisher. The artist used a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne and turned it into a fire extinguisher.

In Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Rotterdam and Groningen Dr. Oetker temporary opend Italian ‘Tradizionale’ stores. In these pop-up stores, Dr. Oetker’s new brick oven Tradizionale pizza are introduced. In these stores dr. Oetker want to offer customers the experience that comes with the new pizza. The brick oven pizza is available at the pop-up stores in two flavors: Speciale and tuna.

Less common parts dinner

Last Sunday restaurant Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam organized a ‘Less common shares dinner’. It was a seven-course menu with ‘less common parts’ of food. These ingredients are often discarded because they are ‘scary’. Many chefs are scared to work woth ingredients like: kidneys, bone marrow or blood. By wokring with less common parts the initiators want to make sure kitchens will work more sustainably.

The Cubi is a kind of Ikea kit, developed by TomorrowToday. The Cubi is composed of five prefabricated modules where you can sleep, wash, work and cook. The Cubi can be built in one day and together they form a complete apartment or in large quantities even a hotel. Starting next year, Cubi’s are located in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Groningen and Eindhoven.

Sustainable 4-star hotel

Near trainstation Amstel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands a durable four-star hotel will be build. The hotel will have twenty floors and a total of 300 rooms. Designstudios Paul de Ruiter and Mulderblauw take the utmost account of the environment by sustainable use of energy, water, waste and materials. The hotel will get a smart facade that responds to the outdoor climate, heat loss and possible overheating by the sun. The hotel will also generate energy with biomass that comes from the hotel.

After butchers, bakersy and ice cream vendors, there is now a chocolatier that twitters, bloggs and facebooks. Until recently Vander Donk Fine Chocolates in Amsterdam only had online shop but opened its first store this week. Vander Donk uses social media to provide information about its activities and shares recipes on Facebook and Twitter.

Cela vita potatoes at busstops

During the traffic jams on November 5th  CêlaVíta poptatoes, in collaboration with th-chef Stan, made different potato dishes in Amsterdam, Leiden and Almere. Bus shelters owned by JCDecaux were converted into small kitchens. The purpose of this campaign was to make peopleaware that preparing a good meal does not always takes a lot of your time.

Meeting in the Thalys

Business travelers of the Thalys train can soon use private spaces for meetings. The concept is called “Le Salon” and can be boked from November 5th. With four comfortable chairs around a conference table, a WiFi network, opportunities for catering, it is a complete workspace. The price for ‘Le Salon’varies per trip, Amsterdam-Brussels for example, costs €444,=.
