In the summer of 2013, Boxpark NDSM will open its doors on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam. This is a pop-up shopping mall, consisting of containers, a variant of the London Boxpark Shoreditch. The canals of Amsterdam host a swimming match on Sunday 9 September. The event is organized by the Amsterdam City Swim foundation and Waternet, the benefits go to a research fund for the ALS disease (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). The route starts at the ‘Marine Etablissement’, goes past the ‘Scheepvaart museum’ to the Amstel, Herengracht and finishes in the Keizersgracht. It’s also possible to swim the distance in a 4×500 meter relay with a business team.
