Pepsi unveils 100% plant-based bottle

PepsiCo – the company behind Pepsi and Tropicana – has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first 100 % plant-based bottle. The pilot production of the new bottle is set to start in 2012, and upon successful completion Pepsi intends to move directly into full-scale production.

The bottles are filled, stacked between chicken wire and covered with cement. Bottle schools are not just a clever way to turn waste into something useful, they are also a reminder of all the waste that is being generated in the first place.

Tiger and king prawns are to become the first Fairtrade seafoods. The Fairtrade Foundation is working to create certification standards for small-scale prawn farms in Asia by the end of November, marking the first time it has ventured into the fishing industry.

With the new Vegman iPhone app you can search for vegetarian restaurants. Both the app as the community website are still under construction. At the moment there are over 1.100 restaurants in the database, 50 of those are in the Netherlands.

 

First biological fastfood restaurant in the Netherlands

On Saturday 12 March, the first hundred percent biological fastfood restaurant ‘eat2Be’  in Holland  has openend its doors. Eat2Be is a new concept with a menu that only offers biological products.
