On the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, a new sustainable bee-project started this spring. 1,5 million bees stay in 23 beehives, which jointly produce over 700 kilo of honey per year. A sustainable project on this polluting surroundings. On this apiculture work former prisoners to obtain a new chance to re-integrate into the society.

From ferry to luxurious spa

This 57 year old ferryboat found its new function as luxurious day-spa. Bota Bota, which is designed by Sid Lee Architecture, can be found in Montreal’s Old Port. This five decks fitted boat offers various (sauna-) facilities in a beautiful panoramic setting.

Commissioned by the Indianapolis Musuem of Art, Visiondivision is creating a project for the Fairbanks Art and Nature Park. In order to sacrifice something, to make something new, a large tree will be rebuild to several tables, chairs, swings and a kiosk.

 

Luxury resort Amphibious 1000 in Qatar

Another interesting hotel will appear in Qatar soon – hotel resort “Amphibious”. the hotel is designed by the Italian company Giancarlo Zema Design Group. The hotel complex will include residential buildings, offices and marina with modern bay. In the central tower will house a restaurant that offers exotic dishes in addition to stunning panoramic views. Guests can stay in the 80 semi-submersible suits, which were called “Jellyfish.” The rooms have wonderful open views to the underwater artificial reefs. On the territory of the hotel complex will be used only electric vehicles and small aluminum boats with hydrogen engines.

 

Cafeine kick from your furniture

Çurface is a new company that makes furniture out of recycled plastic cups and coffee grounds. The material they’ve come up with is a high impact polystyrene composite board that is malleable when heated. The surface of the material has the faceted look of crystal but is smooth in texture and reminiscent of chocolate, leather and stone.

 

Illuminated Walls by Philips

Illuminated walls to completely transform a space. Philips has announced a new product on the market, namely luminous fabric. The product is made in partnership with the Danish Kvadrat Soft Cells, a company specializing in sound absorbing panels. The durable panels are based on an innovative and patented aluminum frame with an invisible energy mechanism, that stretches the fabric perfectly smooth. The panels are integrated with LEDs and can be connected to an audio system to change color to the beat of the music. Look at the movie to learn more.
