Pop-up terraces on NY sidewalks

The government of New York is looking for restaurant and café owners who are willing to open pop-up terraces on the sidewalk, during the summers of 2011 and 2012. Those who are interested can subscribe online. If the owners are chosen to open a pop-up terrace, they have to design and maintain the terrace.
Unox shop at NS-station

On November 3rd Unilever and NS started a Unox shop at the trainstation in Den Bosch, The Netherlands. In this shop travelers can enjoy winterly-like meals, such as traditional Dutch pea soup. The Unox-shop is an initiative of the NS-subsidiary Servex and Unilever Food Solutions. When winter is over, the shop will be replaced bij Swirl’s Ice Cream.
Restaurant Bigfish opens pop-up restaurant

Bigfish in Rotterdam, The Netherlands will set up his own pop-up restaurant. The location is still a secret. Bigfish organizes events, catering and sets up concepts like pop up restaurants. Reservations can be made online, and guests receive a password.
Pop-up Asian BBQ

Vacant empty properties are not a very attractive sight. Allowing termporary enterprises in such a property offers a good solution. Asian BBQ turns them into a temporary restaurant. A good solution for empty movie theaters, churches, playgrounds or just an old warehouse for example. They recently had a summer place in a circus tent in a courtyard for 5 weeks. In addition, you can apply for an invitation to the next BBQ on a still unknown location.
Pop up dining in Eindhoven

From October 1st to December 15th, you can enjoy a gourmet dinner in the Blob in Eindhoven, designed by Massimiliano Fuksas. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, guests can enjoy a 4 -, 5 – or 6-course dinner of food designer Annelies Hermsen (daughter of starchef Toine Hermsen). BLB restaurant is on the second floor of the Blob, BLB Lounge and BLB Cocktail on the third floor.

Willem & Drees sell fruit and vegetables directly from farmers to supermarkets. If they still have fruit or vegetables left they sell them at pop-up fruit stalls. By using a pop-up stall, Willem & Drees want people to get acquainted with products directly from the land. The launch will take place during KunsthalKOOKT on September 9th .

This street furniture is designed by the local residents of the neighbourhood Lombok in Utrecht. The furniture “pumps” itself up from the ground and after use it disappears into the ground. This means that residents can decide if they want to use the object and how.
Monthly pop up event in Paris

These two men have been operating a “coffee shop” since last weekend in the streets of New York. Where? No one knows. It just depends on where the bike is leading them. Everything is done on manpower (green engine). Even the beans are manually grinded for you. A delicious cup of coffee, if you know where to find them, anyway.
