11stijlenbier | The taste of Friesland captured in a beer

New Frisian beers made of the ingredients of popular Frisian delicacies. The idea was born after a tasting during Covid. The initiators of 11stijlenbier (11 types of beers) came up with, among others, the Sûkerbôle Triple (caramel and light cinnamon), Frisse Drûge Woarst Wit (dry sausage wheat beer) and the Sûkerlatte Blond (anise). 11stijlenbier brews beers inspired by typical Frisian delicacies. From sugar bread to the local ‘drabbelkoek’ and from local dry sausage to sûkerlatte. By using characteristic ingredients during the brewing process, unique flavors and beers are created. In the end, 11stijlenbier will take you on a distinctive culinary journey through Friesland.
Restaurant Bisous opened its doors in Amsterdam

Opening – Restaurant Bisous has opened its doors on the Albert Cuypstraat in Amsterdam! The new bar-restaurant formula is the creation of entrepreneurs Bas Noorman and Lowie Jansen. Bisous, which means ‘kisses’ in French, pays tribute to the sensual Parisian haute couture restaurants. Come home in glamour!

Pracht Event | Orangerie de Pol connects art with fine dining

Greenhouse restaurant Orangerie de Pol in Doetinchem connects art and fine dining during the first edition of their ‘Pracht Event’ (Splendour Event). On Sunday June 9, numerous (local) artists will present themselves in and around the greenhouse of the renowned restaurant in the Dutch region Achterhoek. Guests will be able to view special works and performances while enjoying the culinary skills of top chef Mark Captein.

Restaurant chain De Beren opens first restaurant in a hotel

Opening – Restaurant chain De Beren (The Bears) – known for its iconic spare ribs and welcoming ambiance – is bringing its signature flavors to Nederweert (city in the south of the Netherlands), since May 23. What makes this opening extra special is that this restaurant of the chain is moving into a hotel for the first time. De Beren Nederweert is housed in Hotel Rosveld and thanks to its strategic location, it promises to be a fine destination for locals, as well as (business) travelers. Guests can come here for business meetings, informal get-togethers, lunches and dinners. All under one roof.
Unique Frisian greenhouse restaurant Mearkas opened

Opening – Together with business partner Christiaan Steijn, chef Kees Meinderts opened greenhouse restaurant Mearkas on May 2, 2024. Friesland’s (a northern county of the Netherlands) only greenhouse restaurant is located in the beautiful bocage landscape of the Noardlike Fryske Wâlden and is surrounded by a vegetable garden, picking garden, a food forest and a luxury glamping site. In the greenhouse-based fine dining restaurant, guests can enjoy creative dishes, mainly made with ingredients from their own garden.
