The new gift bottle by Grolsch focuses specifically on women. On the limited edition bottle are two toatsing, glamorous women  with the line ‘to 2011’. The bottle was designed by the Dutch fashion illustrator Piet Paris. In 2009 Paris already designed a coaster. The bottle of 1.5 liters is for sale for € 12.95.

Sustainable 4-star hotel

Near trainstation Amstel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands a durable four-star hotel will be build. The hotel will have twenty floors and a total of 300 rooms. Designstudios Paul de Ruiter and Mulderblauw take the utmost account of the environment by sustainable use of energy, water, waste and materials. The hotel will get a smart facade that responds to the outdoor climate, heat loss and possible overheating by the sun. The hotel will also generate energy with biomass that comes from the hotel.

The Pulp and The Coffee Bean offers a cup of coffee which contains ten times the standard amount of espresso. The coffee should not be sold to people over forty years or hart failure and is described as ‘porn in a cup’. The drink is called “Dieci”, Italian for the number ten.

Luminous nano-tree

Scientists in Taiwan created an environmentally friendly alternative to streetlights. They developed a luminous tree. By applying golden nanoparticles to the leaves of a Bacopa plant, the leaves light up. In the future, they think of using this technique on roadsides to save energy costs and to reduce the CO2-emissions.

High Tea at Omar Munie

On November 17th the Dutch bag designer Omar Munie opened a new store in Rotterdam. In this store he sells his bags and during the weekends a Bag & Tea is offered on the first floor of the building. During a high tea, the customers can search for the perfect bag. Munie wants to give his customers a relaxed feeling of being together. The menu offers sweets like cupcakes but also several savory dishes as quiche and sambusa.

The Detox Market, an eco-friendly pop-up market, sells natural beauty products and organic food, produced by serveral small farms. The interior consists of recycled wood. Besides grocery shopping, people can visit The Detox Market for facials, tastings, demo’s, parties or just for a conversation with the owner.
