Unpackaged was founded in 2006 by Catherine Conway in the belief that there is a better way to sell products, so the customers can do the right thing, for themselves and for the environment. How it works: remember to bring your containers from home (if you forget these, you can buy reusable containers there), weigh your containers at the counter then choose the product & amount you want, take your goods home & enjoy. You can bring in the Unpackaged shop glass jars, tupperware, old takeaway cartons, brown paper bags, plastic bags, old packaging. Good for the environment and no waste in packaging.
Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel uses all kind of modern techniques to facilitate their modern guests. August 2011 they were one of the first hotels to introduce RFID technique to facilitate easy acces to the Facebookpages of their guests. Now they have rolled out a biometric system of payments utilising PayTouch.
This natural juice consists of various grass trays that can be extended. The artist Kacey Wong has developed the bar to stand in, he can mix the apples and wheat for a healthy juice.
German tree house maker Baumraum has crafted luxurious cocoons for the Mendoza resort Entre Cielos. The futuristic pods are designed to be surrounded by nature, located amidst the foliage of actual vineyards.
To communicate a drink-driving message to some of the heaviest drinkers on St. Patrick’s Day, the karaoke lyrics of famous Irish drinking songs carried a sobering message. As karaoke always seems like a great idea to people who’ve had a few too many, the singers unwittingly spread the message, singing an SOS to call them a taxi home. The ‘Rede van Dronten’ currently holds the 45th position of the Dutch café top 100. One of it’s areas has recently been renovated and transformed into ‘loungebar Tokyo’. The lights in this bar are 100% LED lights. As a result there is a significant drop in power and air-conditioning costs.

In the north of Argentinia, everybody loves rugby. Salta came up with the idea of ‘Rugbeer’. A vending machine which gives you your beer when you pushed hard enough against it. With this action, the sales increased by 25%.
