This coming 14th of July, the Harvest festival in the theme of the potato takes place in Amsterdam Roest, organized by Youth Food Movement and artist Sascha Landshoff. The potato is one of the most eaten, but as well one of the least rated vegetation in the Netherlands. This festival takes place in a time of the estrangement the urban consumers have with their food.
Big Appetites is an exhibition of artist Chistopher Boffoli. With this photo’s he is referencing to as well a cultural fascination with tiny things as well as an American enthusiasm for excess. This exhibition is open to visit between the 21st of July through August 24th in New York.
Specially for the coming Olympic Games in London, Coca Cola designed this bottle, only available at Selfridges.

A bit freaky; Damien Hirst has made an artwork with a cock and bull on formaldehyde for Mark Hix’s Tramshed restaurant in East London. The animals refer to the typical beef & chicken menu. Apart from the huge container there are several other artworks, like a painting ‘Cow & Chicken’ painting from the popular Cartoon Network series in the nineties.
The combination cucumber and ginger Ale tastes very good. The lemon lowers the sweetness of the drink and adds the freshness to it. To prepare your own ‘komkommie’, you can find the recipe here.
Jeroen Mutsaers co-owner of the event organization 12inchCity indicates that festival vistors from the big cities move to smaller festivals in the east. Last year 12inchCity organized for the first time a small scale festival called Greafental dance festival. On 7 and 8 July, the second edition of the Greafental festival will be organized.
Hero cassis is made of real fruit. To spread the word, Hero cassis samples bottles will be distributed to the Dutch people with a mini-factory on wheels. This summer, the car drives in the Netherlands.
