Vive le Vin wine bus

Folkert-Jan Duynstee decided after his world tour in 2012 to do something with his passion for wines. In the France Burgundy region he found a Citroen HY Currus bus from 1964, the start of ‘Vive le Vin’. Vive le Vin is available for events throughout the Netherlands, such as festivals, receptions and weddings. The wine poured by Vive le Vin comes from countries around the world and is organic. Beside the wide range of wines, Vive le Vin also pours organic juices, beers, coffee and serves snacks and sweets. The bus has a heated tent and bar stools.

Radler at a relaxing moment

Bavaria introduces the Radler beer as a drink for relaxing moments. The latest commercial of the brewer shows Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Bruce Lee and Tupac Shakur that have escaped the hectic pace of life and relax on a tropical island. Watch the commercial here.

Duvel Mini

Brewery Duvel Moortgat introduced the new Duvel Mini in the nhow hotel Rotterdam on Friday 21 March. The Duvel Mini contains 18cl rather than 33cl but does have the same familiar taste as the famous beer. The idea is to drink smaller amounts of beer at little moments, such like appetizers, a nip or during tastings. The Duvel Mini is available at supermarkets and at the better restaurants in the Netherlands.

Pistolet shop Brussels

A shop that is fully dedicated to the perfect pistolet: a white and round bread with a crispy crust and a slit at the top. Pistolet-original opened its doors in Brussels last year. The breads sold are made according to the recipe of baker Yves Guns and are topped with fillings like shrimps from Zeebrugge, beef with pickles and Ardennes Hesp. The recipes are made along with top chefs Pierre Wynants and Freddy Vandecasserie. Pistolet-original also sells small seasonal dishes, desserts, drinks and a variety of Belgian beers. Haircut at the bar

Every Tuesday Lotte Maas (35) cuts at café bar Baarsch, Amsterdam. As ‘Amsterdam pop-up hairdresser’ they cut some eight clients a night in the pub. Previously she cut include at Club VLLA, festivals and soon at OT301. Easy for anyone with too little time for a haircut during office hours and weekends. In addition, waiting is a lot more fun with a beer and for the bar owner it’s a win as well because there is extra traffic on a Tuesday night.

New York Pizza is the best-know pizza chain in the Netherlands, owner Philippe Vorst calls himself the best pizza baker of the Netherlands. Authors Maarten Beernink and Rupert Parker Brady have interviewed the New York Pizza owner several times and translated his entrepreneurial lessons into the book ‘The 13 smartest entrepreneurs tips of Holland’s best pizza baker’. Philippe Vorst gives tips about growing and innovation during uncertain times to business owners and marketers. The book is only available in Dutch.

Only Canadians can open this fridge

The Canadian beer brand Molson Canadian has placed a striking red fridge full with Molson Canadian beers in Canada’s Olympic House. However, the fridge can only be opened with a legitimate Canadian passport. A passport is first inserted into a slot located to the left of the fridge door and the door will be unlocked. Once the door is open, anyone can grab a beer, also the people who are not from Canada. The fridge encourages people to look for a Canadian friend. The refrigerator was placed at multiple locations in Europe before the Winter Olympics.

Men Cafe during Home Exhibition

The ‘Home Exhibition’ in Amsterdam RAI is really a female fair, but each year around 25,000 men visit the event. To do the men a favor, during the event from 15 to 23 Feburary, there will be a Men Café again. Men can drink a beer here, eat some croquettes and there are pool tables. Racing driver Tim Coronel will be present to accompany the men in the café. The visitors can sit in the Dakar buggy of Tim Coronel and take a picture.

BarBacon New York

A real bacon lover? Visit the bacon restaurant ‘BarBacon’ in New York City. The restaurant opened last month and is completely in the theme of artisan bacon. The menu includes a variety of bacon sandwiches, salads, bacon chocolate chip cookies and even a bacon whiskey variant. When serving ‘The Tasting’ the guest will receive a selection of four types of bacon and there is a bacon of turkey or vegetarian bacon. ‘BarBacon’ serves local craft beers and whiskeys in combination with various types of bacons. Maybe they can serve a shot bacon liqueur?
