Around the world, more and more research is being conducted to answer the growing demand for a healthier and longer life. Longevity has become a key focus online, in luxury hotels and resorts, and increasingly in restaurants and wellness concepts. But how can hospitality entrepreneurs respond to this trend? Longevity is best described as the pursuit of healthy ageing and living longer. Across Europe, particularly in Germany and Switzerland, there has long been a tradition of \u2018Kurort\u2019 – spa resorts where guests can recover from illness or simply enjoy thermal baths, extensive wellness facilities and, in many cases, medical guidance from doctors and healthcare professionals. We recently spent a week at Adler Spa Resort Sicilia<\/a>, a beautifully designed and sustainably built resort where the natural surroundings, multiple swimming pools, sports facilities, spa and yoga classes all contribute to relaxation and well-being. The resort also places a strong emphasis on vegetables and locally sourced products.
