Fletcher Hotels in the Netherlands responds to the Tax and Customs Administration’s slogan in the Netherlands with a playful twist. From January 2026, VAT on accommodation will increase significantly, making a weekend away more expensive for many Dutch people. The VAT on hotel stays will then increase from 9% to 21%. An increase of no less than 12%. The Tax and Customs Administration always says: \u2018We can’t make it more fun, but we can make it easier.\u2019 Fletcher Hotels turns this around: \u2018We can’t make it easier, but we can make it more fun!\u2019. With this in mind, Fletcher Hotels is introducing the \u2018Free Stay at Fletcher Package\u2019. Guests who come for dinner and breakfast can stay overnight for free. With this package, the VAT is 21% on \u20ac0, or 0. The package can be booked until December 1, 2025!<\/p>\n

With this VAT increase, the Netherlands now has the highest rate in Europe for hotel stays. Germany, for example, has a rate of 7%, while France and Spain have a VAT rate of 10%. This makes the Netherlands by far the most expensive.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Free Sleep at Fletcher Package\u2019 is now available and can be booked until December 1, 2025. Hotel rooms have been made available especially for this package in all 115 Fletcher hotels<\/a> in the Netherlands and Germany.<\/p>\n
