This independent label, initiated by hospitality expert Jeannine Sok and entrepreneur Sven Heijkoop, shines a spotlight on front-of-house staff and aims to contribute to the professionalization of the industry. At the same time, the consumer magazine \u2018Gezellig\u2019 will be launched, featuring the certified businesses and inspiring stories from the hospitality sector.<\/p>\n<p>2 minutes read<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The launch of the Dutch quality label \u2018Gezellig\u2019 during the Week of Hospitality<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The selection of the first businesses took place during a two-year pilot phase with mystery visits carried out by students of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/drenthe.college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drenthe College<\/a>, later supplemented by assessments from experienced professionals. Criteria included hospitality, craftsmanship, presentation, and product. The official award ceremony will take place on September 24 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hofsteenge_grolloo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hofsteenge Grolloo<\/a> during the <a href=\"https:\/\/weekvandehoreca.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Week of Hospitality.<\/a> On September 22 though, three new certified businesses will already be revealed at the hospitality trade fair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/gastvrijrotterdam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gastvrij Rotterdam<\/a>, at 14:30 in the networking lounge, during the Culi Quiz Top 100.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Consumer magazine \u2018Gezellig\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The magazine \u2018Gezellig\u2019 is an ode to hospitality and features contributions from, among others, Mandy Kwekkeboom-Overbeek (Gault&amp;Millau Hostess of the Year 2025, restaurant Joann in Enschede), Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Boer (De Librije, Zwolle), Gert Wiltvank (De Librije, Zwolle), Arjan Broekman (Het Wijnhuis), and Frans and Bart Hofsteenge (Hofsteenge Grolloo). The festive gathering on September 24 will be hosted at Hofsteenge. \u201cThe north is well represented in the magazine and among the first ten certified businesses. Moreover, this is a charming, traditional caf\u00e9-restaurant with a cozy communal table and a billiard table,\u201d says Jeannine Sok about the choice of location.<\/p>\n<p>The label is supported by various hospitality industry partners, including Week of Hospitality, Emixion, SVH, Horecava, Gastvrij Rotterdam, Bidfood Nederland, Herman Wines, FNV, Brinks CoffeeRoasters, VHC ActiFood, Horecavakbeurs Hardenberg, and Wijnkoperij De Lange. New partners are welcome to join.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/accessible-hospitality-quality-label-gezellig-launched-in-the-netherlands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The quality label \u2018Gezellig\u2019<\/a>\u00a0was founded in 2023 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jeanninesok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeannine Sok<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/svenheijkoop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sven Heijkoop<\/a>. Both bring their own expertise: Sok, the first gastologist in the Netherlands, is the owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/dutch-hospitality-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gastologie <\/a>in Nijmegen and author of several books on hospitality.
