The first product that popped up is the croissant. We think the croissant hype began with the Cronut by Dominique Ansel, back in 2013. Since this croissant-donut combination, we have seen endless variations. Last January we wrote an article with the question what 2024 was going to bring us? Well the year 2023 ended with a broissant and 2024 started with a brioche croissant loaf, which is kind of the same! We spotted the broissant in a pop-up in the Landmark hotel in December and the brioche croissant loaf in Amsterdam early January. Later this year we spotted, croissant cereals, potato croissants, the Onioissant, BallSsants, the Croicheese, the Cr\u00f6ner, a Cherry Crioche, Croissant Cones. And it ended with tasting the elongated croissant by Fran\u00e7ois Perret at the Ritz Paris Le Comptoir.<\/p>\n<p>2 minutes read<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Croissant craze | We are well aware that we probably missed a couple of them!<\/h3>\n<p>We already mentioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C0Pi0VpKw4n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christmas Tree Croissant<\/a> in our article on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/croissant-craze-what-does-2024-bring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Croissant craze\u2019<\/a> from January 2024. A bit like the Broissant pop-up in the Landmark, we spotted the brioche-croissant loaf at Brioche Amsterdam, they look delicious, check it out in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C3cZl50oYce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this reel<\/a>. A colleague tried it and loved it! We wrote about all the croissant craze in our weekly articles, trends we spotted. And now a round-up of 2024!<\/p>\n<h3>Valentine\u2019s Day | Why not send a bouquet of croissants to your loved one(s)<\/h3>\n<p>We also spotted a bouquet of croissants, combined with flowers for <strong>Valentine\u2019s Day<\/strong>! We tried to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/instagram-inspiration-roses-are-red-or-bread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recreate<\/a> the flower bouquet by Dominique Ansel, but we prefer to receive the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C3DcuQtu4vE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">original<\/a>\ud83d\ude09. This might be inspiration for bakeries, it will be February 14<sup>th<\/sup> within a wink of the eye!<\/p>\n<h3>Croissant in combination with ice cream, breakfast, lunch and dinner<\/h3>\n<p>Although the combination of a croissant and ice cream is not new, the croissant cups and cones of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C-hXpBipGpU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flaky Pastry Croissant Co.<\/a> from Dubai were new to us. Inspiration for ice cream parlours?<\/p>\n<p>We spotted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C6YTHToISTW\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">croissant cereals<\/a>, lots of work though! But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7MsMv_uUoD\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep fried potato croissant<\/a> might be a great surprise at your Christmas dinner for example. We love the idea!<\/p>\n<p>For dinner you could try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C84slhbNncY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Cr\u00f6ner<\/a>, a cross-over of a croissant and d\u00f6ner! Turkish kebab and the croissant meet to create the ultimate kebab. Spotted at the Cio\u2019s Grill &amp; Kebab at the Quellenstra\u00dfe 68-70 in Vienna. But we also spotted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7SBuqEP3Od\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Onionsant<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7N0qQEPx30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ballssant<\/a>, they look great!<\/p>\n<h3>Is it pastry or a croissant? A Crioche, a Croicheese and BunBun in Amsterdam<\/h3>\n<p>How about the delicious looking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C9NDqlmIcKm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crioche<\/a>? A combination of brioche, croissant and cherries, created by baker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/zhuk0vets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dima Zhukovets<\/a>. Or the also very delicious looking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C8C4KDkqzHs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Croicheese<\/a>. The Croicheese is created by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/antojosgallery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antojos Gallery<\/a> in Madrid and comes in the flavours: Galleta Lotus, Tropical Mango, Passion Fruit, Frambuesa Pistacho and Pistacho Ib\u00e9rico. Recently we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/young-entrepreneurs-new-concepts-don-utrecht-daruma-crepe-en-bunbun-amsterdam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bunbun.ams\/reel\/DCjcQQ2Ij2y\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BunBun Amsterdam<\/a>, they make 7 types of buns every day: 4 sweet- and 3 savoury buns made from croissant dough. But they also sell buns with pistachio, chocolate with raspberries, cheesecake filling and one of their latest flavours is \u2018banana, pecans and caramel\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Also opened in July, Gallery-Atelier for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C-HgHWKoLD3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pastry Pantopia<\/a> in the Kerkstraat in the centre of Amsterdam. A truly unique pastry experience! Immersing you in a rich tapestry of flavours, colours, materials, textures, and stories from around the world.<\/p>\n<h3>Paris the city where they sell croissants on every corner<\/h3>\n<p>We have just visited Paris and as I am a bit older, I just fancy a real good croissant! Which we had at for example Caf\u00e9 de Flore, but it seems that even I have a craving for specialties. We stood in line to buy a elongated plain croissant in \u2018La boutique Gourmand by Francois Perret\u2019, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.horecatrends.com\/en\/the-ritz-paris-le-comptoir-la-boutique-gourmande-by-francois-perret\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ritz Paris Le Comptoir<\/a>. So fluffy and crisp, loved it!
