Together they proudly present their new creation: Drop Bock, a unique bock beer in which the rich flavours of licorice blend seamlessly with the quirky notes of malt and hops. This innovative taste experience has been launched during craftbeer festival Brewda.<\/p>\n

Driven by craftsmanship and innovation <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The collaboration between Frontaal <\/a>and Oldtimers <\/a>is a perfect illustration of what happens when passionate craftsmen meet. Oldtimers has been known for 100 years for their iconic licorice, with distinct flavours and textures that go far beyond sweet and salty. In preparing for their anniversary year, the licorice makers wondered what would happen when they put their knowledge to work adding that licorice character to other treats. Frontaal, known for quirky craft beers, saw a challenge in that question. The licorice makers and brewers started experimenting and now know what happens when licorice enters the brew kettle.<\/p>\n

Licorice and hops: the perfect match<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Licorice Bock is a beer like you’ve never tasted before. Oldtimers and Frontaal have managed to intertwine licorice root and salmiac – the signature ingredients of licorice – with the pleasant Magnum bitter hop and a selection of roasted, chocolate, and caramel malts. During fermentation, the sweet malt notes gradually fade, bringing out the powerful licorice flavours beautifully. The surprising blend results in a rich, sweet flavour with subtle bitterness and a liquorice finish that lingers pleasantly long. With an alcohol content of 7.5% and a warm, black color, Drop Bock is the ideal companion for autumnal days.<\/p>\n

Launch and availability <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Drop Bock is available from September 7, on Frontaal’s <\/a>webshop and during this month at Poiesz, Mitra, Hanos, PLUS supermarkets, selected branches of Albert Heijn, Albert Heijn XL and AH.nl.
